Dooood, the glass is always half full!!

Perhaps but I don't see Marky being any better this yr unless Wolf or Vlad becoming a super hero we will be hurting this yr we are missing 4 top producers. What we got in return is just sad of course IMO which here of course isn't worth squat and I don't blame this forum but I do how ever have an opinion and in my little mind it tells me were hooped this yr and perhaps for the next 7 yrs specially as the new Flames get much older. But time will tell and I truly hope I'm wrong and I guess my attitude stems from the lose of 3 of my favorite players in JH/Mony/MrT the back bone of this tea All this happened because BT screwed them in there last RFA they were pissed and JH showed when he dist use.

  2. As long as they can't garb a top 1-10 pick I'm ok . Well not ok but it is what it is I'm totally confused with the thinking behind dumping Mony but it just goes to show what kind of owner ship we have the lack of respect they showed to mony after all he has done for this team and they dump him because he got his body destroyed playing for this team just so sad IMO.

There were other ways around trading Monahan.  It was an easy trade.

Keeping him meant we traded someone else.

Hindsight I guess, since I didn't love the trade.

I think it's likely we loose this year's pick and have 2 next year.

Anyway, what is done is done.

Monahan without Gaudreau may not have worked.

Could we not have put him on waivers?

  4. So he has a contract that is in affect but since he hasn't played a lick all last yr and I guess this yr are we still paying hime? Also about Greer what is he another plug or a quality play in other words will he be a help for this team or just a stand in when are need some one to fight? Is he better than Loooch as far as a player maker goes or is he just going to be going out there to push his weight ?

I believe he was joking with the cancer comment, but Phillips has stated he was a Wings fan growing up.  Some times people need to let things play out before going online with their expert analysis on the future.  How did the Coronato will never sign here play out for you?

I'm Glad he did I wanted him to sign just seems to me it is a huge risk drafting college kids I guess you win a few and so on. So I guess you never have an opinion my opinion says Philips will kill it the Caps. Please give me your expert opinion would love to hear and trust me I won't Satoshi Nakamoto on your parade enjoy.

I agree completely. Phillips is a guy that I'll hope and cheer does well. But I definitely won't turn around on the Flames and say they screwed up. Great to see him have a nice camp and earn some praise. But it ends there, he's not a top 6 here, move along.

Besides, a Calgary kid that grew up a Wings fan. So in the '04 playoffs when he was 3, he would have been cheering for the Wings when we devastated them.

Who needs that kind of cancer in the locker room?

And do I really need to add the /s, or should I hold out for the /swoosh?

Wow thats a stretch look at most of our players are fan of there home team so by your way of thinking our whole team is a cancer come on ? I think we never gave Philips a chance thanks to sutter one game in the N doesn't really allow him to show anything at all. I say he will dominate with the caps pull at least 30 goals I hnope always likked the kid or man now I guess.

I think they are trying spread out the minutes on the back end and also limit Tanev’s minutes to try and keep him in the lineup. This also maintains the L-R.

Looks like they might be giving Rooney an opportunity to earn that 4th line center job and making Coronato earn his way onto the roster.

Doesn't this ;lineup scare you ppl I don't have much confidence in this seasons players other than Hubs and Linds I don't see much of a threat on this team. I know what just said isn't going to go over well but you must admit we are very shallow on  power forwards I know mang and duby are not there but even with them I don't see much of a team that can compete.

I think he sees everything that happens on the ice.  But I think he generally just says lots of positive stuff about players because that's what he sees.  He would also be quick to point out the areas needing work.

We have all listened to him for yrs I myself have always enjoyed his take on the kids saying that I think he is perfect on drafting. Once he is in the thick and has to make a decision on who we should take the positivity will go out the door and the seriousness will take over and we will get the best player possible

Duehr is a lock to make the team.  So is Ruzicka.

Question mark for me is Coronato.  We don't know if he will just play 8-games and then get sent down to AHL for one year (which would be good for his development).  He might not be ready for a top 6 role right now.

Gezz I heard the exact same thing about JH and I know he is not JH but the point is the same thing was said about him. Give the kid a chance before we push him into the AHL just thank god the AHL is in the same building

  10. We are at a rock and a hard place seems we can't move players because GMs know how hard up we are and are offering pucks for high end players. So we are stuck with these high end players till end of season and only the top teams are going to through a couples of pucks or prospects our way and since these teams are at the top there picks will be in the high 20's. Screwed we are we can't buy RFA's due to cash flow which in my mind is about time we can finally see how our kids will fair the only down fall in my miond is we lost Phillips which I believe is a huge lose.

i don't know the things he did when he had drug problems, but his story could be something to get behind, and he has changed quite a bit.

It is really really beyond horrible what happened to him and others (Sheldon Kennedy). The league is already in a bad way sweeping this crap under the rug for its image. Hockey Canada too.

If hockey is really for everyone, these stories need to be turned into a positive in a way that the system listens and hears them to give voice to those that are silenced in these circumstances. And I think I'm under cutting what it's like for these players that had to go through this.

i know a bit about how it crippled family and caused drug problems... trauma sucks! And that's minimizing it.

i could see a case for retiring his jersey, and being a good ambassador for the team. It's all in how to frame it and propping up someone who was down.

I thought giving him the PTO was a step in that direction. I'd have signed him for shootouts alone that year, lol.

I don't know how a person can stand in his shoes and be any different it is ruff to have been abused to say the least but having to hide the drama and still perform like he did say tons to me the drugs and other stuff to me is just something that manifested through all that trauma. I kinda know how he felt we all have lived some sort of trauma in our lives weather it is alcoholic house hold with abuse of some kind or totall sexual abuse most of us have scares and everyone deals with them the best they can trust me I know full well about it.

Not likely, a newer expansion team from the south winning was a selling point for the league. Wouldnt matter if it was the oil or flames.

    /adjusts tinfoil hat

Totally disagree we get no respect from the NHL

  13. We are now into the 5 yr losing streak we have lost 70% of our goal scoring we've lost JH MrT and toffoli on top of that we have spent most of our money on 2 players that are just a little above average but they will not put us above average in scoring enabling us to succeed we let go a top goal scorer in Phillips because he is to small according to who? Now we have a GM who is not going to be able to move the needle for us because BT as far as I'm concerned purposely put us in such a bad spot that we will not get pass mediocracy for the next 5 yrs I believe that's why BT jumped ship. I know that our buddy from 80 Feet wants to believe we can pull out of this damage BT put upon us. I know I have the sky is falling attitude but even if Markstrom can get back to vesna quality play we don't have the horses to get into the playoffs and we also lost our first round pick thanks to BT moving Mony for our first another awesome move by BT. SO Darren if you do read this please let me know how we will survive the next 5 yrs with out hitting rock bottom and have 2 of our top players in there 30's ?
