Agreed .. I don't put a whole lot of stock on those statements unless they're definitive . I do like Kadri shutting it down for example ..he likes it here ..wants to be here ..period

I would argue however that yegor should be a key piece. Yes it was a career year ..but that was due to where he played in the lineup. This wasn't truly a breakout becaue in NJ when he was given the opportunity to play up the lineup, he produced at the same rate he produced here .he just got buried down the lineup due to the Hughes ' and Hischers ahead of him. He got I think it was 22 in NJ his rookie year cuz he was played higher .. I think you can safely consider him a 25-30 goal scorer . Giving him the contract you tried giving Lindholm would make sense to me

You really think he is worth 8 or 9 mil? Why not a 2 yr show me type of contract or are you worried he would do what JH and MrT did?

  2. Without iggy and Kris we woulkd not of had a sniff at the cup and I enjoyed watching him play. How many elite players would drop the gloves as much as he did? He stuck up for his line mates all the time and I appreciate that in a player. In other words if Tij is half the player iggy was I'm all in.

Vladar may just be given away if they can't figure out what he is and Markstrom isn't traded.  Trade for something minor (4th) with salary retained.  He's a pending UFA next season.

If we are trading Markstrom, we have to roll the dice on Vladar or find a replacement.  Only way to be sure is to play him now.  I don't think you can blame the CAR loss on him, but he looked shaky at best in that.

Lots of pending UFA's following next season.

Sharky, Kuz, Mange, Rooney, Duehr, Hunt and Hanley (Vladar too).

I think we should be trading Mange this summer if possible, or at worst next TDL.

    TDL is more risky, though.

And he is more of a niche plyer, so his value is not extreme.

Kuz, I would keep, but that is just me.  He's a sniper.

    Rooney, Duehr and Hunt meh.

They 1st and 3rd are guys you keep to help out kids.

But we tend to play them instead, so that has to be a consideration.

We picked Mang up in the 6th round he doesn't owe us anything so if we get a 4th or better were ahead of the game. If you trade Marky you are going to be looking at top 4or 5 picks for the next few yrs Agreed ? So far Miroman is looking pretty good hope he can keep it up.

I do not envision a huge change in the NHL and AHL rosters for next season.

I don't feel that anyone on the Flames with any term will be traded before the next TDL.

I think that Dube, Osterle, Poolman, Pysyk, and Gilbert will not be re-signed.

Greer and Lyle are potentials at best.

Damiani, Dansk, Jones, Kuznetsov, Okhotiuk, Schwindt, and Solovyov are probable.

Kylington and Wolf are getting re-signed for sure.

What makes you think Kyl will resign here he is a UFA and will be looking to play with a winning team not a team who will be at the bottom for the next 3 to 4 yrs ?

Interesting turn of event.  Can't say I am surprised.  The logical outcome is that none of these players return to their former teams, regardless of outcome.  That is 99% likely because none have contracts past this year.  The unsaid thing among the GM's is that they are untouchable.  If a RFA, they will be UFA.

So your saying we lose another player for nothing in return? So we lost a first over Mony I still will never understand that move. This team is going into a dumpster dive I don't think we can dig our way out.

I wonder if something outside of hockey is affecting Dube. 🤷

Doesn't make sense, the most fit player again in camp.

Here he is on pace for about 8 goals down from two seasons of 18 goals each. He had 45 pts last year!

You can see it in his play this year, just seems off. Confidence is lost. I hope he finds it again, he has the tools to be an effective bottom-six guy.

Can he not be sent down to the A or will he go on wavers ? Perhaps time to sit him for awhile and put pelts in his place?

it is probably a lot like being injured I would assume.

Okay and that means what? He has not played for almost 2 seasons and if his contract ends this yr he just starts playing for a couple of months and he is able to leave when his contract ends just like he has played the whole time?

  8. I hope he can play his way back on the top 2 lines . Here's hoping. Been meaning to ask any one know how his absence will affect his contract is he still able to take advantage of hisd lack of play and still be able to leave when his contract is over even though he wasn't here for most of it

  9. Have you ppl watch Huber he doesn't even try we are going to have to buy him out and I believe that's his plan get bought out and go back to Panthers and get a huge pay day from them and start playing hockey again. I wonder if we can sue him for breaking his contract you the one where he gets all that money and doesn't even try to play the game.

It sucks to lose to the Oilers.

But this start is probably what's best for the long-term future of the franchise. The worst thing this team can do is be in the middle of the pack. It's going to take a winning streak for that to even be a possibility.

Get use to it it will be a common theme for the next 7 or so yrs we are in the 7 yr drought just like we kicked the Oilers for all those yrs we are now looking at pay back only difference is we will never see a first over all.

  11. I'm afraid I agree with taz89 I'm hoping we are in the 1- 4 over all picks this yr perhaps even next if not we will have nothing in our prospect pool that will be anything near a star player other than Nato and that is a dream . Saying that maybe we luck out on a 4th - 6th rounder that becomes a top 6th in depth between the 2nd and 3rd line.

  12. Yes that's why I said Wolfy will be MVP if he gets us into the finals but I guess he will have to win cup to get MVP usually but like every thing else there's alway a chance to get MVP if you have super human play getting to the finals who knows but I could see Wolf doing that given the chance. But I truly believe Nato can get 50 seems like the coach is going to give him every opportunity to succeed.

  13. As  half full type of guy I am hoping nato is Rookie of the yr the only bright spot on the team Unless they bring up Wolfy then they will be neck and neck for top rookie player. But saying that I guess to be rookie of the yr it's all about points But I think if a goalie gets us to the finals he will be MVP. Again just my opinion. Also I said Nato will get 30 goals this yr I take it back he will get 50 some goals for his rookie yr I know I'm pushing it but why not that is my glass full prediction. :)

Dooood, the glass is always half full!!

Perhaps but I don't see Marky being any better this yr unless Wolf or Vlad becoming a super hero we will be hurting this yr we are missing 4 top producers. What we got in return is just sad of course IMO which here of course isn't worth squat and I don't blame this forum but I do how ever have an opinion and in my little mind it tells me were hooped this yr and perhaps for the next 7 yrs specially as the new Flames get much older. But time will tell and I truly hope I'm wrong and I guess my attitude stems from the lose of 3 of my favorite players in JH/Mony/MrT the back bone of this tea All this happened because BT screwed them in there last RFA they were pissed and JH showed when he dist use.
