I have seen a couple of games all season that I would describe as their best effort. Two games maybe three. This was not one, but a good game and better result. I would generally say that we win games when a) Markstrom outplays the other team's goalie b) We score enough to put the game out of reach c) Have enough in the tank to battle back after a bad start When we get a lead, we tend to take the foot off the gas. Only a few times where we go for the touchdown. When we take a ton of shots from the outside, we don't score much. When we drive the net, we get goals. Sure, we can win and win in tough games, but we have to do it every night. No luxury to win every 2nd game or have wins followed by losses. We need to be winning 3/4 or at least 2/3. That's the way he feels, but doesn't speak for the GM. What he should have said was that the GM is looking to make the best deal. If it's not a good deal, he doesn't make it. The funny thing about Tanev was there was early discussion about an extension, and since then it's been reported that there has been zero contract extension talks. If he was looking for a crazy number, as perhaps he should, then the Flames do the value calculation and figure out if they want to move forward.
