Thebrewcrew
Another solid game from the Flames  Markstrom was really solid in the 3rd. He's as dialled in as you'll see a goalie right now  I don't think we'll see the eye-popping numbers of 18/19, but this team feels like they could have a very solid season

Really good puck support work by him on the Tkachuk goal. He's coming around. Hopefully Lewis finds a finish or 2 also. Mony fed him a coupla good passes. Liked Pitlick's game too, looking fwd to his 1st as a Flame. He looks like he's getting comfortable. I hoped for more from Z. Thought he'd be a decent stay-at-home guy, but he's out of position a lot. Looked like he wasn't sure how to keep McEwan away from Markstrom. Yikes. Thanks for grabbing the reigns of opportunity Kyl. And looking very confident doing it.

By itself, many said whatever, but as a whole it created options, like Dube and Mangia together, sliding Dube to C, etc. It enabled us to build another line. Not, "should Dube or Mangia play on Backlund's wing"? Neither.lol Interested to see how Richardson slots.

It works some shifts, but it kills offnse others. Monahan is looking better, so it may just be a question of not having a 4th C. If Richardson comes back, then we might have that 4th C and move up Monahan. Let's face it, he was rusty. I don't feel that a connected Monahan would be anything other than a boost for Dube and Mange. Â Haven't seen enough of Richardson to say he would be a good fit. Who do we even take out to insert him? About the least effective player out there is Ritchie. But a 4th line Ritchie is not the worst thing I can think of. Thebrewcrew
https://www.naturalstattrick.com/game.php?season=20212022&game=20123&view=limited  Kylington-Tanev had a terrific night. The numbers confirm the eye test. Better than 80% corsi for that pairing.  Zadorov-Gudbranson struggled, again the numbers confirm the eye test.  Three of the forward lines had great nights. Coleman-Backlund-Pitlick had the toughest night. I thought they were fine, but they also had the toughest matchup of any Flames forward line.
