Wanted to try a different angle We already have a thread regarding what we want , hope, or think should happen .

What do we think WILL happen ?

Get inside BT's head a bit..

Regardless of if you like or love the idea.. where do you think he will go ?

No debate over whether its a good idea or not .. just pure prediction

as example , I would have placed money last year he'd go hard after Ryan Reaves.. many were against the idea, but he did in fact come close to signing  him

I'll start with mine :

Current Roster

Sam Bennett - traded

TJ Brodie - Traded

Michael Frolik - Traded

Hamonic - re-signed to an extension

Prout / Fantenberg - both re-signed

Hathaway  - leaves as UFA

Smith  - signs with Edm

Tkachuk - 6 Years , $7.6M AAV

Rittich - 3 years $3.5M / AAV

Stone  - Traded for any pick we can get - wont require buyout

Gillies  - traded

Neal  - not going anywhere

Janko / Kyllington  - could go either way .. may need to be included in Deals

Draft

Our 1st rounder will be traded, but we will obtain a 2nd rounder

Trades

Kadri

Zucker

Kapanen

Free Agency

Wayne Simmonds

Talbot / Mchilhenney /Lehner ( it will be one of them )

Bonus Prediction - (there's always a "never saw it coming " out of left field  move ) - but you have to honestly believe it can happen

Acquire Taylor Hall for Johnny with a signed extension

be fun to look back in the fall and see how close we were

Draft

I believe the Flames will keep the first round pick

Free Agency

Lehner

I don't think there will be any significant free agent signings other than Lehner because of the cap situation the Flames are in.

Getting inside Treliving's head is impossible but I did listen to a few interviews. He was not tipping his hand of course leading into the Draft however he did elude to doing some things internally to get better play from some of what is here already. This likely means Neal and Bennett are not going anywhere. Last year he dealt with the malcontents within the room. This year I have to believe he wants to accommodate Peters with more of his wants and improve on some of the weak spots. I don't see a lot of moves but erhaps some significant moves. I will follow your layout.

Bennett - extended 3 year 3M AAV

Brodie - traded

Frolik - traded

Hamonic -extended 3 year  4.5MAAV

Fantenberg - resigned
Prout -resigned on two way contract

Kylington - stays

Hathaway - gone

Smith - gone

Tkachuk - 7 years 7.5 AAV some upfront bonus

Rittich - 3 year 2.5M AAV

Stone - traded wit some salary retained

Gilles - gone

Neal -stays

Jankowski - traded

Kylington -stays

DRAFT- I say they keep it

TRADES

Kapanen - using Mangiapane

Zaitlev - using Stone and Czarnik

UFA

Dzingel LW

Connolly RW

Mrazek G

NO BONUS PREDICTION

The only prediction I would be confident in making would be BT will sign Smith for another year. Smith was BTs guy and I feel he will think Smith showed enough for another season as long as they can agree on money I believe it happens.
