  1. Let's call it the "Giordano" window to win a SC.
  2. I think anyone needs to be judged on a significant body of work and Trevliing has done a good job but with some gaffs here and there. My concern for this coming season is that he really hasn't improved the team over what we had last season. He seems to be banking on the players being more motivated from having their butts handed to them I the playoffs. I hope he has a few more significant moves up his sleeve before the season starts.
  3. I actually don't know what to expect.
  4. Good to hear less from you TD
  5. Whatever thx for your point of view and more love affair with Mangiapane. I really hope he turns out to be the player you think he will become because he isn't there just yet. Here's hoping he can be a 4th line sensation for us.
  6. Lucic will add an element or presence our team needs but to refer to him as a "goon" is actually sad. Let's hope we see some of his offensive talents come back into play because we know what he can bring physically.

Good to hear because it starts with the right attitude. Parsons is our future and we shouldn't lose track of this one.

I think the assessment of our goaltending past and present is getting way over stated here. Rittich has come through and looks to be a well structured fundamentally sound Goalie and Talbot now provides an experience element with some past NHL success. Any team vying for a SC needs a sound defensive game and good goaltending while in the playoffs both have to be outstanding. I would say we have some good prospects in the farm system, most importantly getting reps and seeing rubber should have them better prepared as they inch closer to NHL action.

    Certainly looks that way.

Listening to Burke over the weekend with respect to fans and sportswriters turning on players and coaches is like the "kiss of death" for them, there is no coming back and you might as well deal them.

I'm not sold on Rittich just yet of whether he shapes out as a regular starter or a very good back up, thus keeping things short term. Parsons should make strides this coming season and this Russian kid is 23 already so another reason to not get to long into contracts.

I would be more inclined to have Talbot at 1.75M on a 1year keeping it short term and Rittich at 2.5M on a 3 year deal. This is how I would position our Goaltending for now.

I was just going to say out of this list Talbot on a 1year deal would be my choice. If the signing is confirmed I think we have a good situation for our net.

OK so if you provide Rittich the full opportunity to be your starter do you go with an experienced back up or give Gilles as the next in line of your prospects a back up role to also gain experience ? I have a feeling money will not be spent on our net in order to fix and rearrange our D and Forward situations.
