conundrumed
With the Red Wings being eliminated, it's altogether likely that Datsyuk will walk away from the final year of his contract. Thus ending the career of one of the greatest to ever lace 'em up. If you had ever have the pleasure to see him play live, you know exactly why they call him "The Magic Man". Other handles put on him were "the human highlight reel" and his moves became "Datsyukian". Kids everywhere claim they, "pulled a Datsyuk" when making a great play. His multiple Selke and Byng awards a testament to how firmly grounded he was, and respected by all in the game. When the Radulov's and Ovechkin's raised the ire of NA hockey fans to start raging about Russians, there was always a two word defense: Pavel Datsyuk. One of the classiest ever, and one of the most dazzling ever. #13 will not be available in Detroit ever again as it goes to the rafters. Feel free to post your favourite moves of "The Magic Man". This one astonished me:
conundrumed
Heard Patrick Eaves describing his time in practice with Datsyuk and the Wings. "When he's behind you and you've got the puck, all you can think is, 'uh-oh'. You know he's there and you protect the puck. You glance back, he's got the puck and he's going the other way. I don't know how he does it but everyone in the league knows when he's behind you and you have the puck, it's a scary feeling". Legend. Not the pushover...
