DirtyDeeds
Maybe EDM should trade their stars to MTL for future considerations on the condition they get traded back after the season/playoffs. We could send our D-men and maybe TOR could loan a GK. Then maybe the Habs could make the dance and be a super CAN team. Works for us too, our AHL team could all get called up and play some NHL games eh. I'm joking of course, but does the league have any rule against this? Yes it is called the Cap. xstrike
Yes it is called the Cap. Easily averted, just retain the cap hit. This is all for making sure a Canadian team is in the playoffs. If we're going for that, might as well make a dream team to get a cup.

With no reward for failure. You want to see teams play all or nothing hockey? Structure the points accordingly.

You want to see teams play all or nothing hockey? Structure the points accordingly. Agree, and disagree. 2 for win. No matter what. 1 for tie. That is, if it can't be decided after a five minute 3 on 3 overtime, and a shootout that doesn't exceed five shooters. Seriously, how many times do you think we'll see? 0 for losses. No matter what. Love.

Love. I have no issues with a tie either 1 point each after a 5min 3v3, great. (still not a fan of the SO) And as for getting rid of the loser point I realize I'm being a bit delusional but as some one mentioned further up the thread, the gimmick points disappear in the playoffs when it matters most. That alone should be a sign.
