Yeah what the hell is up with this? No reason for Vladar not to get a couple games out of this road trip. All that once per week B.S. was just to make sure Marky didn’t get his feelies hurt when they played Vladar against Edmonton, apparently.

Definitely one of the most entertaining games of the season so far. Markstrom was so good when he was good. Rwally don’t understand his inconsistencies though. Hubie looked really good to me, especially in the first half of the game. and yes, my favourite moment was Markstrom taunting Chucky after he snagged that puck in the shootout

I remember feeling like we got some serious luck there when Stevie Y went out. Not sure if the Flames have that epic run to the final if he stays healthy.

Yeah i agree with all of this. Looch was doing perfectly in his 4th-line role. I think putting him with Kadri minimizes what both of them can bring to the table. But I don’t have a Jack Adams award so wtf do i know, lol. Sutter’s gotten it right before, many times. I fear that in this case however he might be falling victim to his own biases about experience, players that have won cups, etc. and being a little pissy about Hubie not yet living up to his contract and potential.

Hubie with Backlund I’m OK with, if he were to put another goal-scorer on the right wing. One nice move on a PK doesn’t suddenly make Lewis a credible offensive threat though, and you’re not going to help Hubie “get going” by putting him on a line that will clearly be used in a defensive role. Especially since I thought (and so did all the talking heads) that Hubie actually played a damn good game before he went out with the injury.

And that save! That was so much fun to see. I was so convinced that the Flames were gonna give the puck away and get scored on about 20 seconds later (cuz that’s been the way lately), was happy to see the W as the final result.

I get all the hype around Hubie, and very happy to see he’ll be returning. But is it just me, or is no one talking about how awesome Kadri has been for us? I get that he’s not putting up McDavid numbers or anything, but he’s been the most consistent forward on the team with the best numbers. To me, he’s the “franchise forward” right now, until someone else does something ON THIS TEAM to actually earn that label.

Really nice to see Tanev back in the lineup, and SOOOOs good to finally snap the skid. But when the hell are these guys gonna stop turning the puck over so damn much?

I get why Sutter wants to reward Lucic, and I totally agree with tinkering with the top line, but it seems to me Looch and Ritchie have been effected as a unit, and in part due to the way they’ve been deployed. Moving looch up to 2nd line and giving Ritchie 2 entirely new linemates seems like a counterproductive experiment to me.

They finally have a real solid goaltending tandem, and Sutter’s gonna do what the Flames always do and tire out his starter before playoffs.

I think they were trying to get him over his Oilers jinx now instead of waiting until they meet in the playoffs. But so much for playing Vladar once/week. That lasted all of never…

Tough break. Flames played a good game. Couple blunders and 2 Oilers goals off of lucky bounces.
