Not that I am a fan of the NCAA as a development league, but I do like the timelines associated with a player that goes there. Markstrom has about 3 years at his current level. Vladar has a longer runway, and could turn into a solid NHL goalie as a starter. Wolfie is back from Vladar, but could come into the NHL sooner. Werner is a bit more uncertain, possibly just a good backup goalie. Sergeev could come out of the NCAA as anything at this point. 3-5 years away is not unreasonable. It's a good problem to have. None of them are projected to be Vasilevskiy level and maybe not even be Knight level. Goalies are voodoo, so Wolfie could be better than Knight for all we know. Pretty solid start to a pro career. In fact, I would suggest that Knight may have been overrated like Gillies was coming out of Hockey East.

Ruzicka leads the AHL with 10 goals.

First game after a long road trip. Taking out a D-man that performed well. BOS was on a B2B like us, and looked completely gassed once we got a lead. They didn't play anywhere near what they were capable of. I agree we are playing at a top level in the league. We have seen some games where we came out flat. MTL and Dallas should have been an easier draw.

Tonight is another of the trap games. CHI should be a crap team, but we likely face MAF. Kane and Debrincat are magic. Have to make sure we have our best D out there for those two. (Kyl and Tanev). While I think Ras and Hanifin have played really well, they can get exposed by fast players. Hanifin gets burned at the O blueline. Secret for tonight? Score early. Don't allow Kane any space. Defend as a 5 man unit and expose the holes in their D. Valimaki out again. Must have been one play that Sutter didn't like. Or the old "play against your former team" thing.

It's a tough call. He should have been extended in the summer when he didn't have to think about hockey. I think there is next to zero chance he walks for nothing if not re-signed this winter. But that chance is due to hard negotiations done by BT. I'm fairly risk adverse, so I don't know how we manage this without a signed deal.

Sillinger, the guy we probably draft if CBJ hadn't taken him. Then again, pretty hard to ignore Coronato's 48 goals last year in 51 games.

I think you are using the phonetic spelling of it. I've seen in the urban dictionary it spelled the way C spelled it. But, then again I'm not that hip.

Wolfie emerging as a steady AHL performer. 5th in SA% with .931, back of 1st place of .944 9th in GAA at 2.22 6-0-2 to start the season. Tied for 3rd in wins. Werner no slouch either 3rd in GAA with 1.96 13th in SA% at .922 4-0-0 to start. He's only ever been average in the AHL, but this is a good start for him.

Yeehaw, a whole 3 games at home, then another roadie. The roadie should be interesting. Kings/Ducks, VGK and SJS.
