  1. His agent is looking for 2-3m supposedly. But that is just the public response.
  2. How does Tim Peel become an insider? Especially when it comes to a player whose contract was terminated. What I am less clear about is what the deal is with the player's immediate future. The NHLPA filed a grievance. One would think that he can't sign or play with a team while this is still in play. If he wins the appear, then he is a Shark in the AHL. But what do I know. As much as the NHL despises Kane for his antics, they won't just let it drop. If anything, holding him until the grienance is decided is what they would do.
  3. Can you imagine the room? Kane has to sit in a folding chair by himself. Not allowed to speak between periods. Gap on either side of him on the bench. Would be a few unexplained black eyes on the roster.
  4. He believes in 2nd chances. What about 4th chances. Ask Winnipeg. Ask Buffalo. Ask San Jose. 4th time is a charm. It would be a fantasic place for Kane. Casino attached to Roger's Place. Doesn't even have to go outside to bet. Underground parking at the rink.
  5. It's probably the right move, considering how we are still in the intermediate stage here. Not a lot of prospects quite ready, still using gritty players in the bottom 6.
  6. Well for starters, he would need to sign an ELC. I do believe that SHL has a transfer agreement with the NHL though, right?
  7. I was initially talking about PP, which is why I mentioned Draisaitl.
  8. Seems like the former douchebags end up reformed and playing well on their new team. DeAngelo playing well in CAR. Nobody wanted him. On another note, Oils get back McD, Ryan and Barrie and lose Bouchard, Perlini, Koekkoek, Konolov and Yamamoto.
  9. No, my point was we don't have any wingers that can play off wing that can shoot the puck hard. Draisaitl goes to that spot on the PP because it makes it difficult for the goalie to get over quick enough. But he also has a hard shot not just the one timer. His passes are coming from a LHS. Mangiapane is the closest we have to a one timer, but he gets into traffic. When he finds a quiet zone, then it's usually on net. But just a quick relase and accuracy, not the boomer.
  10. Yeah, got lost in two different thoughts. Gaudreau with the stretch pass scores. Johnny gets the stretch pass from Guddy. If only we had 2 guys that could complete a pass in stride. Gaudreau seems to be the only one to handle those receipts. Most are in his wheelhouse, but his wheelhouse is bigger than most. The odd time Mangiapane gets on in stride. Or Dube.
  11. We need a PP quarterback other than Gaudreau. He's a threat on the right circle, bur you can get the pass to him behind the net that way. Same for Lindholm. You use Lindy on the left circle, you need someone to cover the left point. If Gaudreau is on the right circle, you need Ras to cover the point. I think they were doing that a bit last game, where Kylington was covering the left and Gaudreau on the right. While it looked better, there was no QB to smooth things out. Chychrun could QB the play and allow the setup anyway we would like. But I would still like to see a Laine on the left circle for one-timers. I guess it's all about setup. 1-3-1 is fine if the guy behind the net can cover that or get in the crease area. If you are using 2 D, you tend to do more with cross crease and shots from the blueline. We just don't seem to get many shots through that way. We use the bump from behind the net to the net front.
  12. Last night we dominated in the first period but got but one goal. Most of the domination resulted in a weak shot or relatively easy save, but some were really good. Other than Gaudreau, we don't have elite passers. Mangiapane was in the slot and the pass went into his feet for a minor chance, but not good enough to get his usual onetimer goal in that spot. So, as much as finishers, we lack elite passing. Gaudreau set up Kylington and he got off a nice shot, but he's not even that good. If it had been Ras (who's a better shot), he would have hung onto it and skated around the net.
  13. I shoot right, as a person right hand dominant, but all my brothers were LHS. I shoot right in golf and bat right. Never felt comfortable trying to shoot left. In net, I was better with the stick catching left, but better with the glove catching right. Weird. The RHS thing is overblown in the NHL. Ovi and Draisaitl on the off-wing on PP's. We are missing that level of shooting.
  14. Last season, Guadreau was away from him, so Gaudreau got the tough players against him. The teams had to choose between Gaudreau and Tkachuk as to which line to send their best. This year, they are all on the same line. I would say regardless of the number of points Lindholm has, he is a top C. More the glue than the McJessub type. That doesn't mean #2, just that the number 1 is not 50 goals. He's very underrated IMHO. The thing about our top line is Tkachuk is slow. He gives up on plays. Leaves Gaudreau and Lindy to have to take defensive responsibility. If we had another RW, I would move Tkachuk to another line.
  15. I don't think we are seeing the same problem this year. Nobody is really shutting down Gaudreau or Tkachuk. We just are missing that 2 and 3C. Monahan and Backlund have crawled into the dungeon. Backlund may be struggling or he may be fading. Monahan has been tasked with being a 4th line C for a long time. He's still a half season away from 100%.
  16. No to Q1 and Q2. Not one piece. Canes knew what Hanifin was or would become. While he's not bad overall, he makes so many bad little plays. The PP usage magnifies it. Can't expect Ras to make him look any better; he shouldn't have to. Might as well pair him with Hanifin and live with Kylington-Ras. That's assuming there is no trade. Back to your question. Trade Hanifin, then we are one major piece away. If we get Chychrun, the piece is not as major. I just don't think the one piece we need is available. Laine for Monahan and a pick. We get a guy that could really learn under Sutter. He's got the shot we are missing on the PP. Would need to qualify him for a year and it makes it difficult to fit in the cap. I don;t think that gets us a cup but maybe gets us closer.
  17. Vladar is at least giving us a chance. If we can get to pull the goalie, we can win it.
  18. Backlund shall break Freddie's back with a snipe to the blocker side. On the shorthanded play.
  19. Timely penalty after a poor 2nd unit shift and the lines messed up. Let me guess, Zaddy.
