  1. That was a pretty weak call on Ritchie. Gaudreau tripped, nothng.
  2. I have nothing against her. I just fnd the call boring. Don't necessariry agree with her observations except the Captain Obvious ones.
  3. Have we won any games in the last two months with Cassie doing the call?
  4. Tell me when we trade Backlund. Don't know what happened to him.
  5. Not that either goal was Marky's fault, but he hasn't looked good in some time.
  6. If he's hing ask to be a boob out there, Zaddy is a star. Between him, Backund and Ritchie, the other team doesn't need to forecheck. Just wait for the pass.
  7. Okay, so I have changed my mind. Trash Zaddy. Such crap.
  8. Backlund hooked going out, then completely out of the play.
  9. So good to have fans. Play the Chicken Dabce for them. That should get them riled up.
  10. I don't know. Hanifin strikes me as one of the reasons why we struggle to win close games. Just doesn't have all the pieces needed to be top 4. He's alright and I cheer for him to be better. I just haven't seen it since he's played away from Tanev.
  11. Why does this seem like the city wants to get a better or cheaper deal. Cost $10m to wind down the old deal. I don't think the Flames really want to go down this road again.
  12. Backlund misses the open net somehow. Oh that's right, is a day ending in "y". Ritchie set up perfectly somehow manages to allow Murray to not just direct it in.
  13. It's called taking the heat off yourself to appease fans or residents. Won't fire the coach or give up a 1st rounder. Will add from within the room or some guy that used to be a good player turned villain.
  14. I don't think it's any worse than talking about trying to sign any free agent. The investigation by the NHL was after the fact.
  15. Hope we get the leaky Murray. No fighting with your bro there Matty. Expect another Guddy-Sanford scrap? Yup.
  16. Considering Sutter's recent comments, Ruzie has a ways to go to earn his trust. They are going with Pitlick and Coleman with Backs, Ritchie with Mange and Dube, Looch with Monahan and Lewis. I think the idea is to get back in the win column. Ottawa is going to be scrappy even with the missing players. I did feel that Ruzie had one bad shift that lead to a goal, but he was not the only guy on the ice. Zero coverage on the goal scorer.
  17. I will show this based on a poster from another blog site, so I can't say if it's true. Sounds like a fair approximation of the situation: MEMORANDUM January 12, 2022 TO: NHL GENERAL MANAGERS FROM: BILL DALY RE: EVANDER KANE As you know, over this past weekend, the San Jose Sharks exercised the Club’s right to terminate its Standard Player’s Contract (the “SPC”) with Evander Kane due to various purported material breaches of the Player’s obligations under his SPC. As a result of the termination, the Player became an Unrestricted Free Agent, effective Sunday afternoon. The Players’ Association has notified the League and Club both that it is grieving the contract termination, and of its intention to pursue an expedited grievance seeking an appropriate remedy. Please be aware that while the League does not intend to pursue or independently take action with respect to the specific contractual breaches that have been alleged by the Sharks in support of its contract termination, the League has initiated an independent investigation into the circumstances pursuant to which Mr. Kane travelled cross-border during the Holiday Period, and whether such travel was conducted in accordance with applicable law in both the U.S. and Canada. While we do not anticipate that this investigation should be lengthy in duration, the timing of its completion will in large part be a function of the level of cooperation we receive from Mr. Kane and his contract representative, as well as whether the facts may compel a disciplinary hearing before the Commissioner. If you have any questions regarding this matter, or Mr. Kane’s status generally, please do not hesitate to contact us. Also, we request that you refrain from any public comment on the matter. Thank you. BD/ac cc: David Zimmerman Kate Watson Sean MacLeod
  18. The only viable option was for EDM to sign him to a cheap deal. They only have LTIR space, not real cap space. A deal less than $1m makes sense. If they need to trade and have a team retain, they would need to give up a 1st plaus the reade value. They are not going there.
  19. Dube and Bennett were drafted as C's, were they not? You try to draft BPA, not just positionally. Tkachuk was BPA. If Dubois had have been available, would we change that? Who knows. Was Mangiapane a known NHL player at that time? Nope. Ideally, you use excess players to get ones you need. Wolf is excess, with Marky and Vladar on board. But you don't trade him now. Zary is excess now, but you don't trade one of the few C's we have. Pelletier is potentially a 10 year pro in a year or so. Do we really have an excess of LW? We have Lucic and who as depth on LW right now. Ruzicka is not really a LW.
  20. The decision by two fired coaches to use him where they did can't really be blamed on BT can it? A proven playoff performer not used in an effective position? Choose to run Backlund as the 2C instead of spending some games on Bennett there? Anyway, you are right, Bennett played like a baby after he was demoted. We hear that happen every year with players. BT probably hung onto him long enough to see if Sutter would turn him around, hoping for a miracle or upping his trade value. The trade served two purposes. It removed his negativity from the room. It moved him east where he would hurt us less. ANA would have been the worse case scenario, and that was even assuming that they had interest in the COVID year TDL (2020).
  21. Yeah, I was wondering about that myself. They looked for and found a way to get out from under it. I don't think h could even sign with another team while a grievance is in place. What I also don't know is whether the arbitor can invalidate SJ's termination. If they were able to do that, he is a Sharks player.
