Funny, we normally have calls missed and the other team immediately gets the call. How things have reversed tonight. Refs must love tough play and hate sticks in the feet.

Although it was a 3 on 2 for us, Hanifin gave up the entire left half of the ice in the way back. You can't give that much space.

Jarnkrok out sick again, non COVID. So, either they go with 11-7 or Ruzie comes in. WIth Sutter, you never know. Makes sense for him to play with Dube and Coleman. He is comfortable in the NHL, so like like inserting Mackey in a limited role. 11F is a bit of a waste. The again, I can't predict lines these days.

It doesn't really matter. Better results against non-Pacific teams. My point was it's too easy to fall from 2nd to 4th and miss the playoffs. Clinch a playoff spot to avoid that possible outcome.

Well, I wasn't going back any further than that. 2013 to 2016 inclusive, our first pick of the draft came from the OHL.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong, just that is what Sutter is doing. He believes you don't worry about the backup the same as you do a 1B. He sits until he starts. You come in cold if Sutter pulls the starter or wants to use the backup in a 2nd of B2B. Whether I agree doesn't matter. As far as winning the division, it isn't the title Sutter is worried about. So close between 1st and 3rd, with 4th in the Pacific also being right there. 4th in the Pacific is likely out of the playoffs. The advantage of 1st in Pacific means we face a WC team, good or bad. We don't have to face a Pacific team in round one.

There's so many different sources of talent these days. I don't know how they decide between player W from league X and player Y from league Z. I wonder if there is a bit of bias with the WHL. We haven't had anything earlier than a 6th rounder picked from there since Ruzie and Tkachuk. A lot of WHL and Q league.

I tend to agree. What I don't want is him being overworked. We have a few B2B's left, so that's a no-brainer. He's not facing a ton of shots right now, and there's not too much he can do with point blank shots or uncovered players deflecting it in. It would be better if we could have the same thing. When was the last time we deflected in a puck inside three feet? Thachuk used to be the master of that.

No Kylington or Ritchie on the California trip. May change later, but seeing the recalls, no so sure about that. In the meantime, no changes to the lineup from Saturday. At least at practice. All three callups were there, though.

As great as the idea sounds, we are fighting to get to the playoffs. Vladar has been good in his last starts, but..... He is 2-2-0 in his last 4 starts in March.

I think maybe there was one game with Val-Tan? I know he played with Guddy as well, so I can't exactly remember the best combo. The thing to remember as well is that Guddy was not the Lord of the Boards, PK specialist he was back then. We were still thinking it was going to be a rough season. If we could somehow deploy Z to make a good play then immediately swap him with another D, we might have a solution. Put some lifts in Mackey's skates and a dark face shield. Get a 2nd Zaddy jersey.....

Interesting. Not sure what to make of Valimaki getting the call. I guess they don't really need to do anything with Ritchie. So, we now have 1 remaining callup. Perhaps we see something today in line rushes or a game day skate. Wonder if Sutter is thinking of sitting Zadorov. If Shilly isn't good this week, do we get Stone or Mackey? Lots of questions, guess I just need to wait and see.

I don't know that Sutter was all that impressed with Jarnkrok's games to date. He's getting some chances but seems a bit off in timing. Isn't bringing any scoring to his line really. Would you prefer to have Ruzie on 3rd line and Jarnkrok on the 4th? Or Jarnkrok on the 3rd and Carpenter on the 4th? I suppose there is a 3rd concept of Lewis sitting out and Carpenter moving to RW, but I don't see it.
