  1. I kinda hoping for Dallas to beat TO. And LA to beat Stinkyton.
  2. Let's hope we can keep the Debbies out. Or is it the Nancies?
  3. Weird. Mackey, Val and Ritchie in. Ruzie, Guddy and Zaddy out.
  4. Like you, I listen to what I hear or read. Sometimes Steinberg misses the things he writes/talks fulltime about. I found it odd that he would be in LA days after a serious injury, or what looked like one. Even stranger that he was seen skating.
  5. Totes. I think it's as much on Tkachuk and Lindholm as Gaudreau. Actually more. I think this year's version of Gaudreau is a different beast. Less E/W play, more smart play. There are several team that play a playoff style in the regualr season, and Gaudreau has points against every team. Except NAS,who we have played once. In summary, I don't worry about Gaudreau, as he's not getting frustrated and sookie this year. This may not be fair, but Tkachuk gives up on plays a lot sooner. That's my impression anyway.
  6. I'm okay with a player trying to draw a penalty, or actually being crumpled on the ice. If you get hit, show the ref. But (this time may have been an exception) I hate seeing the falling down when you can't make the play. Like the play last season where he dove because he couldn't get back on a 2 on 1. My overall point is I prefer to see him skating more than just standing and reaching. He should skate more often with his brother off season. Or maybe with a decent skating coach.
  7. Are you saying he's not in California? He had the MRI on Sunday or Monday. Wes Gilbertson @WesGilbertson · Apr 6 Looks like #Flames lineup is unchanged from Monday's win in L.A. Ritchie and Jarnkrok are participating, but not taking line rushes.
  8. Sutter said that, but also said that Ritchie hadn't traveled to LA. Ritchjie was on the ice yesterday with Jarnkrok. Neither was cleared to play. Valimaki was brought up on an emergency recall yesterday, so I suspect neither Jarnkrok or Richie is available tonight either.
  9. I hope Chucky shows up tonight. He has looked sloppy recently. I can live with the choppy skating, but the flopping around gets on my nerves. On Johnny's goal in LA, he was on his face looking for a call. He may have been checked, but it wasn't a great look.
  10. Gawdin may eventually become what Derek Grant ended up being. A decent filler on a lesser team. It took him forever to get his first point and now has 12 goals this year on a rebuilding team.
  11. You know what they say, in Paris they pee in the streets. Doing other things a little less acceptable of course. As long as you didn't have the CDN flag on your jacket. If you are going to do that, wear an Oilers jersey. That seems appropriate. And, bonus, you can always wipe yourself with the jersey.
  12. I can never tell with Sutter. A goal means little to him, but the mistakes you make are more of an issue. From what I can tell, Stone did not directly contribute to a goal against. The first goal against actually had 3D on the ice, including Ras. not sure how that happened. If you take out Zaddy for Mackey, I don't think it changes the number of RHS's. Guddy with Tanev sounds okay, but a little worried considering we otherwise shelter Guddy. Yes, they play top PK together, but that is pure defending.
  13. Thanks as always RD. No idea of the scratches or starting goalie tonight, as there isn't a practice or real game day skate. I don't think it would be too outlandish to see Jarnkrok come in and Lewis come out. It doesn't disrupt more than one line that way. As far as D, I would be inclined to slot in Mackey on the trip, but tonight may not be the best time to do it. You could actually use Stone on the 2nd PP unit with a mobile D. Gives them a new look. The goalie choice seems obvious to me, but who knows. Marky was great for most of the shots last night, but it's a lot to ask him to play 2 nights in a row. Vladar is rested, but lost on the road to the Sharks in his only game against them. Marky is 0-2-0 against them this season.
  14. I'm a little leery about Sutter being involved in trades too. No problem with Guddy and Lewis, but only if you can afford them. Lewis not an issue but we can afford a $4m version of Guddy. Zaddy was not a Sutter choice, but has rounded him into a 50% nice 50% yikes player. Before he was 20/80.
  15. Phillip Seymore Hoffman and Benn Stiller movie. Along Came Polly?
  16. I like the way we have those top prospects lined up for progression into the NHL. We don't have to bring in a 1st rounder in their draft year. Did that in the past and it worked out part of the time. We have some runway now and a decent team that we should be able to keep together for the most part.
  17. Johnny has since gone supernova. I know the other teams hve seen the pass to Lindholm before, but they seem to have no answer for it. We always have our hands full with the Sharts but last game was a mental breakdown. We scored enough to hang onto a victory. Last week was just that, last week. All I can say is we better see Vladar tonight. There is zero reason to play Markstrom. He lost focus last night and made it closer than it needed to be. Saying that, he was solid for all but those two goals. A couple of breakaways by Grant, and a 2nd look after a breakaway with another free ride to the net. WTF was that all about? D have to stop double coverage and guard the middle better. Vladar has the trust of the team, and they actually play better in front of him (except for the VAN game).
  18. Pelletier needs to have a good camp to show what he is. You have to wonder what the fit is in the roster. Pelletier likely a middle 6 LW to start. Zary could possibly be a 4C, just because he's less offense driven. Depending on what we do this playoff season, we might see a move to younger players or continuation of the type of roster that wins (or close) the cup. The turnover players would be your Lewis, Ritchie, Lucic, Jarnkrok players, though we may bring back Jarnkrok. Really it doesn't leave many spots available when you also take into account Ruzie, Monahan's unknown status and a couple D.
  19. Interesting to see tonight's lineup. Ruzie was 1/7 on the dot, but played a decent game. B2B game, we likely see one F and maybe one D swap out. I'm less certain about the D, since Stone probably earned himself another game. Jarnkrok is probably good to go, but we shall see. Didn't participate in line rushes yesterday.
