  1. Almost gave one back in the dying seconds. 20-6 in shots. Yikes.
  2. Gotta like how consistent that line is. So glad we got Kadri. Shame to have to trade Monahan, but once Gaudreau was gone, it was essential.
  3. Thanks RD. Missed you on Saturday. You do so much better a job than me. Cheers.
  4. Sutter has been more critical with the team over a win than a loss. We have wins because we are winning the special teams battle. That's not a strategy for winning in the league, only when everything else is equal. Buffalo was a lot of PK's and only one PP. 5 penalties for us and 1 against. CAR was equal 4 each. Vegas was 4 penaties for us and 6 for Vegas. EDM was 4 each. COL had 5 penalties and we had 4. Last year we seemed to have way more penalties than PP's, but we were winning at 5v5. This year not so much. Yet
  5. As I understand it, his salary is already calculated into the $81M cap. And there is an unused roster spot. So, I don't believe they have to do anything when he comes back.
  6. Fine is fine, but I am looking for better than even goal differential. Last year, we had Mangiapane killing it with Backs and Coleman.
  7. If he wants to talk about it fine. None of my business. I'm just worried where he hasn't had any practice. I understand he can go to the AHL for conditioning. But he lost out on the time when he shows up jacked.
  8. I don't think Rozie had any worse pre-season than a few players. But Sutter always believes that pros don't have anything to prove, only the rookies do. That may be fair, but there's a big difference between a pro like Toffoli and Lewis.
  9. I tend to think VAN is going through some internal issues. Seem like they think they know better than the coach. Really poor efforts to finish games. Gave up a pair in a game they had a chance tow win. They might need to trade a player to get past the issues. It's either Miller or Boesser or Horvat IMHO.
  10. I believe someone mentioned that Toff and Lindy would do well to play behind Huberdeau, not getting ahead of him in the play. Perhaps they also haven't developed their communication on ice. I also question why top line is getting so many D-zone starts. He's losing a lot of draws, so the transition is gone until they gain possession.
  11. I'm not sure why Ruzie is not getting in. It's not like Rooney and Lewis are killing it. I like Rooney on the PK though. And He hasn't been a problem. Lewis has not impressed me so far. He's not cast right on the 3rd line. I get that Lewis is a safe player. He does what he does. He isn't helping scoring, and the one goal he scored was off the ref and a good pass. Sutter will get Ruzie in soon enough. Kylington is distressing. No timeline and no word. He could help stabilize the situation on defense.
  12. EDM scores when they get enough PP chances. When the calls are not ovewhelming in their favor, they have a hard time scoring.
  13. Goalie interference on 2nd goal, but the refs don't seem to think so. Sutter didn't bother with it though. Need to reel this one back in. 1st goal was a Gaudreau-esque bad pass that came back the other way. The penalty was a joke. Was Connor McD the guy coming in and you aren't allowed to look at him?

  16. Two games, well reall one and a third. First game I will ignore since he's had worse to start the seasons. 2nd game was one deflected just before it hit the net. He had zero chance as he was lined up for the shot. The goal where it sat on the line I didn't like. You can't leave a gap behind you like that. Should have layed out not sat on it (he thought). If you don't see it, look behind or flop back. Anyway that was a minor concern. The play without the puck sucked. Hard to win when you take too many penalties and only get one PP yourself. Mange blew coverage on Vlarad's last goal against. That was one of many bad plays.
