Vegas started it with their post hitting. But then they decided to aim for the space in between.

I never had any concern. I think he just wants to know how he would be used. Maybe he has some concern there, but doesn't really matter, he has to be good to play in the NHL. I don't see him wanting to return to college for the sake of a degree. Not that far away from one.

Risk and reward. I was never a real Forbort fan from his play in LA, but really no season to work with. BP firing and Wardo comeback fell short. Then COVID. A season to forget. A wasted 4th no doubt based on the season. Forbort only played 17 games that year for the Kings. He was recovering from a back injury.

So today at noon MDT Coronato could see his season end. BT is waiting there....

No real magic number, since it relies on many teams. Only teams like CHI, ANA and SJS will not be able to pass us. ARI can still hit 86, VAN 91, STL 92. Our max is 94 NAS max is 104 Jets max is 103 So really, no team, not even Vegas is set. 9-13 games remaining. Based on win %, WPG then NAS then us have the best chance at making the playoffs.

Even if they can't stand the coach, I don't see it on the ice. These guys are pros. Frustration no doubt. Score a goal only to see one scored against. Take 40 shots and nothing goes in. The team all make mistakes, so I don't think they were sitting there blaming Kadri or Pelletier or Markstrom. I don't even think they sit there ragging on the coach. They might voice an opinion, and they perhaps should.

I don't dispute the falling off of his game. That was easy to see. And yes, the goal against and SA% back that up, especially later. But the more obvious thing is wins. Vladar would win even letting in more than 1 or 2. Markstrom would win less letting in less than 3. There's no obvious reason for this, just speculation. Did the team play more offense because they felt Vladar would stop the next one? Did the team try to shut down too early with Markstrom? I would hope that a coach look at many sources of information, not just the counting stats. If it's saying that a Vezna goalie will bounce back after a bad game, then maybe that was wrong. This is not a Sutter thing, there is more to the decision than the head coach.

In itself, those were not dumb trades. Bad timing no doubt. Had the season gone like a normal one, we might have seen different results for them. I do think he makes mistake, but sometimes you get different messages from the coach.

Seeing how poorly WPG is playing and NAS struggle, you have to wonder. For every loss we get, I want to see one win for each of the teams below us. If Tanev is out against SJS, I don't hold much hope for a win.

The Vegas game had to be the weirdest finish I have seen before. Inside 3 minutes we pull the goalie with the 4th line on the ice. Toffoli comes on as the extra man. Unit plays almost a minute. I can't explain it.

The prudent thing was to not throw away picks/prospects for a rental. Any longer term contracts would have a big impact on next year. BT knew we weren't going to come close. Knows excatly what's going on with the team.
