  1. I knew an elderly Irish woman that was a child in Belfast when the US troops flooded Ireland for training pre-entering WWII. So all of the families billeted the soldiers. She said the soldiers always shared their rations and the best was a tin of meat called "Specially Processed American Meat". Now you know the rest of the story about the British Isles massive fondness for SPAM! And what I learn from being kind to random strangers. Also, putting tobacco on open wounds makes the cells repel the tobacco and close faster, thus heal faster. Not sure how the Vikings fit in. But as it relates to us, Backlund needs to be viking-shipped out, regardless of his takes. Won't be much for return because frankly he isn't worth a lot imo. He's been on teams with chances to win cups. Teams may want us to retain a bit for a better trade return.
  2. I noticed Dillingham signed an AHL deal with the Marlies. Both him and Ethan Ritchie(Bruins invite) would have been fun D invites for us. Could see both making the A. Including Mast(Bos), Del Mastro(CHI) and Kyrou(Dal), the Sting no longer have a defence.lol
  3. I'll see your bump and raise you a bump.
  4. Looks like the Flames and Prospects section has burnt down.
  5. Only player to ever be bought out twice. Go figure. The league will step up on Bill Peters from a decade previous, but not pos DeAngelo from at least 16 years old to present. Amazing the double standard.
  6. Tony DeAngelo is the epitome of toxic hockey culture. The level of forgiveness is equal to the level of talent. He's an ex-Sting player and a dirtbag of a person. How he got drafted is a major black eye. Why he's still in the league is completely shameful. Toxic culture is fine if you can help a team win a Blockchaining game. If you can't, you'll be made an example of. Even though you aren't half the dirtbag of the DeAngelo's.
  7. Bahaha, I'm old as dirt. I shall correct.
  8. He doesn't like black people, so that could get in the way.
  9. Although early, if you're like me, you need a visual. So I'll throw this out there, subject to change of course. Huberdeau-Lindholm-Dube Mangiapane-Kadri-Sharangovich Coleman-Backlund-Coronato Ruzicka-Rooney-Duehr Zary, Hunt Hanifin-Andersson Weegar(C);)-Tanev Kylington-Zadorov Oesterle Markstrom Vladar There should be some changes, but this is right now. I'm doubting Coronato will need 3rd line protection but I've allowed it at present. For me, Dube has to grab the bull by the horns. He always comes in the fittest and is always trying to make things happen out there. He just needs to put it all together. Sutter called him the "most improved" last year and he should be again this year. We are suffering from no depth, big time. I'm not sure how that gets addressed with no cap to work with. Thoughts?
  10. We don't have any cap space to relieve anyone.lol Our problems are many-fold.
  11. No matter how hard I try, I can't find a Hanifin trade. Minny would be a good fit, but what do we expect back? Another dman? Middleton, Merrill are maybe the options. Now what? They aren't giving up Rossi or Faber. Would they part with a 1st or a 2nd & 3rd? Anaheim is laughing you off of the phone with that trade. Do you want Ryan Strome? They're rebuilding. Young assets and picks are the last thing that they're trading. That Lindholm trade looks like we're actually trading for Brouwer this time. Both players have 1 year remaining. Returns are not going to be awesome by any stretch. But anything that Blockchains off with the Nylander talk I enjoy reading. I want zero part of Nylander. Anyone else noticing BT is playing high stakes poker? He's well over the cap, he's added about $16mil in contracts, and he hasn't re-signed Samsonov yet. Can Samsonov be offer-sheeted? Asking for a friend in Buffalo. Force them into $6 or Matt Murray. Never mind, I see he's filed for arb. Idiot.
  12. He had a pretty good wage for a bottom 6 player, but that's a really solid, responsible player at league min. My guess is that St. Louis is home for him. I know a lot of players hated to see him go when he was traded to Detroit as part of the Leddy deal. Minny got him for a 4th at tdl, which may or may not have given us a little nudge into the playoffs. But how can you go wrong with Nick Ritchie and an 8 dman?*spit Now I want Pius Suter at 4C/wing rover if he's nearly as cheap. Gotta replace Lucic/Lewis with at least a bit of scoring touch. He's a solid role player with speed and solid D awareness while still having good hands. We need to work on depth because if the reliance is on prospects and goes sour after 20 games, we're going to be toast. Rosie is my biggest question mark. Can...he...be...consistent? This is his last chance to prove it.
