Another wicked installment of FLA v TBay last night. Had to run the TV & Ipad to watch CBJ-DET as well.lol Spencer Knight looked phenomenal. Calder candidate, likely along with Lundell. FLA's speed is downright ridiculous. Duclair bumped to 1st line, Reinhart to 3rd. Reinhart-Lundell-Marchment showing good chemistry. Well balanced lines. 4th line seeing 10 mins, only Barkov over 20mins among fwds. I'd like to see us get there.

I agree with your 1st & 3rd lines and why break up Dube-Mangia when they've been great together. Ritchie shouldn't even be on the roster. Can't say Mony's too slow and replace him with Ritchie, that makes no sense. Net crasher? Use Pitlick then. A lot of great C's are always trailing due to D responsibilities. The 2nd line has been great, I have no idea why it would be changed. Not reading much into practice lines. I think Sutter just wants to see all of his options for line-mashing. Detroit looked pretty fast last night with moving the puck and forechecking. Greiss has been outstanding. But it was CBJ and, outside of goaltending, they don't look very good. Couldn't get any sense of Detroit's play getting hemmed in, CBJ never did it.

Not sure where to say this but here is probably best. I still want to see the full roster. Gawdin and Ritchie have been adequate, but we'll be even better with Richardson and Pitlick replacing them. It boils down to we haven't seen 50% of our offseason acquisitions. I believe all 4 fwd acquisitions were well thought out. I have no problem with a 4th line of Lucic-Richardson-Lewis. 3rd line of Coleman-Backlund-Pitlick. That is NHL-quality bottom 6. 1st line looks really good, and no one is separating Dube-Mangiapane anytime soon on the 2nd. Mony just has to be a good trailer with those 2. The D isn't as bad on the ice as it is on paper, but Z really needs to calm down and stop panicking constantly. May need him to watch film and games from above. He needs to improve his decisions or might as well risk Kylington instead. Can't really break up HaniRas, so either Z gets corrected by Sutter or he needs a refresher course off of the ice. Gudbranson hasn't been torturous, but Z has. Should give Vladar some starts soon. Detroit fans have a new motto since the TBag game, "Us vs the World". I wonder how out of hand Thursday might get. The Wings vs CBJ tonight might be worth the watch to see if the Wings maintain the hate. Blashiil said, "I guess we'll have to look after ourselves if the league won't". Both Kirkland and Duehr were the best in game 1 when I watched that one. Duehr shoulda had a couple and Kirkland was controlling play very well.

Seeing Duehr a lot more. Reading good skater, I get it now. His first few steps are explosive. All of the last cuts are very understandable. They were the best players. Wolf was great. Makes it look easy.

That game was painful. 1-0 Tucson in OT. On shot #35. Tucson goalie was outstanding too.

I'm not a Tkachuk fan. He's drama overload on the ice. That's the best part of his game and keeps him in the spotlight. Never did like it. Muzzin negated that crap, others will too. That's the risk he runs. Is it about the team, or you, Matt? Why are you firing the opposition up? I still think Thomas is a much better and far more responsible player.

While I agree, our succession plan is always really sketch and extended. Where would we be without mercifully getting JG? We still be looking for an Iggy succession plan. Kipper. All the way to Markstrom. Now it's Gio, there really isn't a plan to replace a 1D. Fox maybe, but that was 2 yrs ago. Keeps us middling and it takes a Loong time when we're always in reaction mode. We've been fortunate to be middling.

Without question. But he's a 60 pt player. His linemates will elevate that. If Barkov is $10, it's hard to justify Tkachuk at $9.5, by, like, a lot. It's hard to sit on Tkachuk knowing he'll hardline more than he's worth. I'll be really surprised if Brady lives up to that contract. What do they think, they're Jeff Skinner?lol

Transitioning away from Kipper, Iggy, Bouwmeester, Gio etc has never had any foresight. I think that has been a big problem.
