If you're a C caught to deep and there's a turnover, it's 3-on-2 going the other way. When the Sting were heavily favoured against the Spits, they barely squeaked out a 7 gamer. They were favoured vs the Rangers and had their butts handed to them. One consistency was Ruzicka played like a dman. He just couldn't get into the o-zone, like he was frozen in fear of his D responsibilities. Now I'd say that's coaching. But also, Lindy is one of the best at finding the balance. Hopefully Rozie gets a lot of support and advice from him. Gotta stay fluid at both ends.
It could be mental, worrying about the opponents threat on the ice, rather than being confident that you are the threat. He's a hard one to figure out. He has a great coach now, so it's up to him. But he's infinitely a better option than Gawdin.
