  1. Zadina will be a good player. Mark my words.lol
  2. This is going to be an entertaining game, mark my words.
  3. Huby bringing the fire after crosschecking Larkin in the neck.
  4. He's not really. There's no room to re-sign him though as the futures make him expendable. He's worth $5 easy. Can't call him injury prone for 2 broken hands blocking shots. Maatta's off the market. Extended @ 2 x $3. He's been great. Couldn't be happier. Definitely worth it.
  5. He needed surgery 2 summers ago. He chose to wait until camp to decide to get it. That likely went over like a lead balloon with Yzerman. Drouin is all anyone needs to know about Yzerman. Team first or you can rot, doesn't matter who you think you are. Bert refused the jab. We'll see who stays and goes. This playoff push is getting dicey on selling, but they're pretty deep.
  6. There's been a lot of players in Detroit down the years, environment is never a problem. Let alone one of the best arenas you'll ever play in. Note that Calgary. Don't build a skyscraper like Edmonton. I've been in both a number of times. Detroit and MTL are the class of the league, not Edmonton. I see our original D pairings are back, so hopefully Chiarot sticks to D and lets Seider run. Should be a tired team after the SO win in Edmonton, but don't rely on it. Vrana (no practice time) a healthy scratch, Kubalik in for Raymond. Walman healhy scratch. The 3rd pair of Hagg-Lindstrom is sketch. Hellberg will get the start, he doesn't move laterally very well is the weakness. Flames really have to limit 4th line minutes. They're snail pace will be exposed vs any line. Detroit gives up a lot of chances, but they can hang a lot of goals on you too from any line and the PP ranges from awesome to terrible at any given time. PK is meh. The Wings are no longer a team good teams "should" beat. They have a lot of talent. Husso is their MVP and the Flames won't be seeing him. Gotta get to Hellberg early and often. Letting Detroit hang around isn't a good idea. Every line can score. And DON'T play, "let's defend the lead". It won't go well. Looking forward to a good game. Flames started the Wings' winning streak. Can they end it?

  8. Not sure there is a reason to move him unless there's an underlying issue, at which point I'm sure he'd retain salary. I honestly don't know. It used to be, "where there's smoke there's fire", but that's long gone. There's always smoke with social media and far too many bloggers' opinions that fans latch onto. Sketchy sources are everywhere and it can get pretty far removed from fact. As for Vrana, he's below average defensively but he has an elite, tricky and accurate release, good skater and good at protecting the puck. He can score from anywhere with pinpoint accuracy. It's frightening how good he could be if it all came together. Herein lies the risk. It's been there in spurts without question. I think most Wings fans, like me, hope that he can get on track. Both for himself and us. With everyone healthy for the first time ever fwd depth would be massive. Need to move Bert though before ufa. There are zero leaks from Yzerman's crew. Their job depends on it. Even staff interviews are silent. So all of the speculation is pure guessing.
  9. This has turned into an Oilers thread.
  10. Lol. Something tells me Yzerman and Sutter wouldn't mesh.
  11. Chiarot needs Sutter. He'd be worth $4.75 per. He's big, fast and physical. He needs to stay home. Paired with Seider, now Hronek. Has cratered both for O stats. He's supposed to be stay at home protection for the partner with offensive flair but reverses the role, inexplicably. He makes pairing himself virtually impossible with that. Hronek was fire with Maatta because Maatta is that role. Seider's stats ballooning with Walman because Walman plays responsibly. Now Maatta HAS to 3rd pair with Oesterle/Lindstrom because Chiarot would make it a tire fire. Why they don't coach the rushing and bad pinches away from Chiarot is beyond me. It's not his role. He needs a Sutter coach.lol With Edvinsson coming soon and Wallinder likely not far behind there is zero room for Chiarot to pretend that he's skilled offensively. He tries to do too much, but nobody needs that. Do what Maatta does and he'd be fine.
  12. Would be nice to have both for a change. Vrana has 4g, 4a in his last 6 AHL games. It was getting on time to recall him. Pagnotta's previous tweet re Vrana is that he would never play for the Wings again.lol The guy's a Putz.
  13. Done deal. Raymond to IR, Vrana recalled. Raymond injured in practice, collision with Chiarot.🙄
  14. Disclaimer: I have zero trust in the source:
  15. Oof, 6pts off the Caps with 3 games in hand. 5 off the Pens even in games, 4 back of FLA with 4 games in hand, even-steven with Buffalo. Still, we'll be sellers. Interested if Vrana will get called up or moved. No end of rumours, probably all guesses. 3 game win streak heading to Edmonton, but a home and away vs Van prolly doesn't count. Playing the crap out of Husso, great to see he can handle it. St. Loo kept the wrong goalie. ex-Blues: Husso Fabbri Walman Perron Sundqvist They're our farm team. Solid graduation for Jonny Burgers. Kasper, Mazur, Soderblom fwd prospects. Edvinsson, Johansson, Wallinder, Sebrango, McIsaac on D for likely NHL players. Cossa, Gylander at G. Buchelnikov, Lombardi, Hanas, Viro, Bulum in the shadows. Looking decently competitive now, bright future, fun to watch. Sneaking into the playoffs would be funny, doesn't matter though. No one has/had that expectation. Lots of time to grow. Feel good for Larkin, parallels Stevie Y. Years of horrible team turns into a good team. The East's powerhouses windows are going to start closing soon with NJ, Buffalo and Detroit taking over in the next couple years. NJ didn't draft Luke Hughes for being Jack's bro. I catch a fair bit of Michigan games. Damn is he good. Maybe better than Quinn. Can't wait to watch those 2 together. In the meantime while the Flames continue to be horribly frustrating, young teams are fun to follow.
  16. Not his fault at all. Look at the crap coverage.
  17. The Sens really haven't had much of a response this period.
