The one factor Russell has is he plays the game with a huge heart, and for that reason he is exactly the guy I would want in the playoffs!! I would take a smaller Dman that plays with a lot of heart over a larger dman that doesnt every day!!

I have to admit I was a little miffed when they signed Hiller, I thought Ramo earned his stripes with his play last year. I do admit though Hiller has proven solid and Ramo has picked up from last year. The Flames with two quality tenders...................about time. I would like to see them rotated throughout the season, keep them rested and healthy!!

I like the fact that the Flames have 4 really good skating and puck moving defensemen. One can't really complain all that much with Smid and England as a pair as well. With the D we have right now ,they should be the qurterbacks on the break out with their feet and passing. The benefets of last season and the team, for the most part remaining intact are showing early......hopefully the TEAM does not peeter out here after a good start. I seem to recall they started out quick last year and stumbled.... GO FLAMES GO!!

Hiller has not been quite the same since he had that bout of verdigo a year or two ago. I had it to and have never been quite the same, get car sick real easy on canyon roads. Time will tell, a good tandem in Calgary and I think it is Ramo's to loose.

I believe if this team can stay together through next year, they are going to be really good? My opinion though and I think the pieces are in place for the most part. We just need a couple PP quarterbacks!! The PP is terrible, need Gio or JBo to gain the zone instead of this confused status on the ice! No one wants to take the puck into the O zone??

Thanx bigchief! I choose to look at the positives and am I disappointed.....sure but it is not the lack of effort on the Flames part, they just can't bury the puck? I feel they have controlled the play so much the past to games that Kipper got cold from lack of rubber his way. Now how as a fan do you handle that and still lose 3-1 and 4-1?
