  1. So your one of those glass half full kind of guys, good to know, lol
  2. Thankyou very much for your analysis, and I like all of your suggestions and may implement them to see what happens. I was trying really hard to not weigh one individual stat over another in order to create as baseline a number as I could. But I appreciate all your input and appreciate you taking the time to read it. Cheers

Justin Barron 30. Ozzy Weisblatt 31. Yaroslav Askarov (I believe he goes in the 1st round, I have no idea where though)
  4. I hope it is OK Crzydrvr that I post this here. I have been working on a numbers approach to ranking players for a couple years now, almost like a moneyball type of ranking, and thought I would try it or this upcoming draft. I used the very basic hockey stats to compile this table (It is not my draft order I will post that separately), but it provides some insight into the draft eligible players within the first two rounds or so. I appreciate feedback either good or bad. Some notes on what I did, was gave them a point value ranking as compared to the other draft eligible players. For example I believe there is no doubt that Lafreniere goes first overall. But in 72 players ranked he placed 8th in GF/G, therefore he got 64 points in that category rather than the top 72. I also gave them points in regards to their position (which could be up for debate), but RH D getting the most points available at 6, ranking down to LH Leftwing at 1. Hardest to find to easiest to find. I also gave them points for their age (12 being the oldest in the draft to youngest). Height with an average of 5'10" at 5 points (then gaining a point for every inch taller and losing a point for every inch smaller). Weight with an average of 180 lbs at 5 points (then gaining a point for every 2 pounds heavier and losing a point for every 2 pounds lighter). Obviously this is not an exact science and there are so many more variables that come into play, but it helps to see some of the diamonds in the rough along with some high production guys that could potentially fall in the draft. Sorry its blurry, if someone can let me know how to post a spreadsheet better, let me know, thanks.
  5. I suggested this on cap friendly, and some panther fans thought it was an interesting idea. It’s a two part trade which I hate because you need them both for the idea to work, but I’m not the gm and I’m allowed to have ideas, lol. Lindholm, Hannifin, 2020 1st for Ekblad and Tippett Backlund to either MTL or NYR as they would benefit greatly from a second line Center. trade with Montreal for right to Domi trade with NYR for Georgiev I also think we should let go of the idea of Hall unless he wants to come home for less than $6, it’s the only way it makes sense. We should also get a new coach (Laviolette or Gerard), and move Johnny to the right side (same as Kane, Panarin, etc.... all off wingers). To me it looks like this: Tkachuk Benny Gaudreau Hall Money Mang Lucic Domi Dube Pelletier Ryan Rieder Valimaki Ekblad Giordano Rassmusen Kylington Cernak (offer sheet) Talbot Rittich
  6. Your absolutely right that he is an overage player, I don’t know if he is playing on a stacked PA team or not. But he plays an honest game and does a lot of little things right, I see him as another mark stone or even giordano type model, drafted late or undrafted (which he has been twice), and has now filled out, has worked very hard on his skating, and is now starting to show what he is capable of. He even went to the world juniors and put up 3 goals 2 assists, to be fourth in scoring on a team that couldn’t find offence. His compete level and retrieval of loose pucks is what reminds me of stone so much.
  7. This should be our target, along with trading for another 1st to get Raphael Lavoie. 2 Big RW RHS Forwards who can score and are starting to show an elite level of Hockey IQ. Will be a nice compliment to our LW in a year or two.
