However with the devastating injuries they have had on D one has to wonder what the powers at be over there are thinking. Is that big contract($6.66m) they just signed with Ilya Bryzgalov until 2020 going to be bought out if they bring in Luongo's $5.33m until 2022 contract? returnofthejets Posted January 10, 2013 Report Share Posted January 10, 2013 My first thought would be that Philly if they had indeed contacted the Nucks about Luongo's status is that no offer has been actually made. It is probably just an inquisitive chat. One would also think they'd like to have the Nucks retain some of Lou's salary and that may have been what they were checking up on. If the Nucks aren't interested in keeping salary then those teams that are looking for that will come off the table. Any gm that has question marks in goal should be checking in on the status of Lou. Doesn't mean your not fully prepared or willing to make a deal for Lou, but your not doing your job if your not talking to the other gm's and keeping an overall picture on the market.
