Nhl Fan Lockout Pledge

Hey folks.

Fans can put pressure on the NHL/NHLPA to compromise on a deal by explicitly pledging to reduce their spending on the NHL in proportion to the duration of the lockout at NHLFanBoycott.com.

Will it help? At the very minimum it is gratifying to do something and perhaps strike a little fear into the hearts of the NHL/NHLPA in the only language they seem to understand right now - $$$$$$$$.

 It only took a month for this guy to come up with this idea?

Why didn't any of us come up with this?

Hey Carty,

We didnt come up with the idea to do something. Fans have been talking about it since the Lockout has been a potential reality. We simply didnt see another website that put the idea into specific achievable terms and made it easy for as many fans as possible to voice their opinion and tell the NHL/NHLPA. So, after opening day was cancelled, we decided to put up a website.

There's other venues for fans to voice their displeasure, including on forums like this. We like NHL hockey, we want the lockout to end, and we want future lockouts to be less likely. I hope as many fans as possible try to do something. Its hard because its easy to be cynical, or derogatory, especially over the internet. But, we decided that we wouldnt let those things stop us from trying.

With a new deal on the table, we think that this is an especially important time in negotiations for fans to let their voices be heard and make sure the financial incentives to compromise are clear.
