I don't listen to the noise about him.

He is what we wanted; a sniper.

Johnny sucked when he first started getting 80 point seasons.

Huberdeau isn't exactly much on defensive play.

The only thing is he has size to overpower other players.

    Agreed.

Teams need players that have varying skill sets. Specialists if you will.

Buffalo has a lot of centers can you get one? Would Necas be in play?

Yes agreed.  BUF needs RHS RD badly.  Same with OTT.  Would love to get back a under-21 C who still has untapped potential and can make it.

I dont watch BUF, but Mittelstadt’s “stadts” ;) look pretty good. Does anyone have a take on this centerman?

How does he compare to Mercer from NJ? Or Poitras in BOS?

  3. I mentioned before that I had a feeling Marky and Tanev could be traded together. If the holdup was retention on Marky for NJ, we could definitely retain on Tanev in a package deal - for a bigger return of course.

Salary cap is also going up over $4M next season, so any additional salary an acquiring team takes on isn’t as unmanageable as they’d like everyone to believe.

  4. I've been a proponent for trading Marky. Not because Wolf is ready, not because I think Vladar is the next Kipper. It simply makes sense for a re-tool. Consider the following:

    - We owe a first-rounder to MTL for the Monahan trade...

    - We shipped out Lindy and Zadorov already...

    - Tanev is surely gone...

    - Hanifin appears likely to be moved

    - From what I understand, the upcoming draft is a helluva lot better than next year's.

Why would we keep Marky around, given the above and Conroy's 'plan for the team'? To sabotage any opportunity to get a high 1st round pick this year (which I believe would be protected from MTL, if I understand correctly). And don't say 'to mentor Wolf'. NHL experience is worth more in my eyes than any "mentoring". If anything, the sooner Wolf can get acclimated to the NHL level, the better. Get the growing pains started now with Wolf, otherwise prolong his development.

Bassa Trouba needs to get pay back

Playing hockey when I was young, yes, I used to take a number and exact some payback when the opportunity presented itself.

Then, as a teen, I discovered a better way to exact revenge. I would target someone else on the team, and then skate by that original offender and let him know that was for him. I only ever remember seeing 2 outcomes:

    1. He’d get tunnel vision for me, and completely lose sight (and his impact) on the game.  (Oh, and I’d poke that bear so much for countless power plays for us 😊)

    2. He’d take fewer liberties knowing that someone else was going to pay for it.

Targeting their better players really works to get their attention and get them off their games. Oh, and their goalies. 😂😏

Trouba doesn’t need to feel payback. He needs to see everyone but him getting targeted. Nothing burns more than someone who won’t engage you but will run over everyone else.

Someone facewash and pop Zabenajad a few times in front of the net. Nothing egregious. Nothing penalty worthy. Just target him. Fun times.
