  1. Good shot by Hanifin, but you had a tired group out there, wear them down more.
  2. Full lineup.... Hailey Salvian @hailey_salvian ยท 25m #Flames in warmup tonight @ Anaheim: Gaudreau - Lindholm - Tkachuk Lucic - Backlund - Mangiapane Coleman - Monahan - Lewis Dube - Richardson - Pitlick Hanifin - Andersson Kylington - Tanev Zadorov - Gudbranson Vladar starts
  3. Some line changes. Lucic-Backlund-Mangiapane Coleman-Monahan-Lewis Dube-Richardson-Pitlick
  4. I think he's having fun. He's a big Cossa fan. A good choice if you have tons of pro0spects in your system already. As your only 1st rounder and limited prospects, no so much. TBH, I'm not as high on Cossa as some. Could be as good as Vladar or as bad as Gillies.
  5. There is and should always be communication. Look out wide. Wheel. Time. Time. But this is about a 5 man unit. The F have to know what's going on.
  6. Yup, sometimes the conversations are so few and far between, any topic turns into a free-for-all
  7. I still find the annoying Orange jerseys to be one of the worst in the NHL. Ranks up their with the Oiler orange.
  8. No matter how well we play, he says that's how you have to play. Don't get too high about a win. Focus on playing every game the same way.
  9. One thing I will say is that the refs made calls for both teams evenly. Not a lot called, no blatant bad calls. Missed an obvious one on Coleman, where he was clipped by a high stick. Couple of marginal ones that could have been seen as a trip or falling.
  10. We used to lack bioth stars and attitude. Now, we have a top player committed to backchecking. He's not about to block a slapper, but he is sneaky good at getting a stick on the play. The top line has what, one 5v5 scored on them when they are on the ice? How many times do you see McDavid or Draisaitl just pounce on loose pucks, not doing much else in the D zone.
  11. The two things I have liked about him are his ability to contain a player and his hard checking. Those are two key things we were missing. It's infectious. Kylington is using his body to separate the player from the puck. That's a far cry from what Brodie did; saying that both are effective, but Kyl is able to do it without risking a hooking call. The more underrated thing about Zaddy is his shot. He has the leverage for a hard shot and his wrister seems to be accurate. Taking it back to Valimaki, he needs to do what Kylington did; work on his decision making. Know when to step up, know your limits for getting back, see the ice.
  12. Oh, I think they knew all along. They probably checked once they became aware that he was exempt for the expansion draft. It's the exact same reason. BT probably felt that Zadorov or Kylington was not going to last, and we would be waiving or sitting one of them most games. Valimaki was still positioned to be 6D. Unfortunately, he was passed by two guys. Love it or hate it, we have two vets that are playing better overall than Valimaki was. Early on, you can't risk things too much and have to go with the safe play. You know what kind of PK you get from Zaddy. You don't know what kind of game you will get from Valimaki. Consistently average or great to really bad. Zaddy is more consistent, with the highs and lows being closer. Valimki is like Bennett was; a really good game followed by a really bad one.
  13. I think we are close to Nucks saturation level. The smell gets to you after awhile. Edler or Tanev, not both. I would be okay with Boeser or Horvat, though I'm not really a Horvat fan.
  14. It just keeps costing the Oilers more and more. Paying for Lucic to help us win. Paying for Neal to not play. He's still an adventure out there, but the intangibles balance it out.
  15. It's offocial, he's been assigned to the Heat.
  16. Kings had 42 shots. They looked to be in a shell to finish the 3rd. Leave some in the tank for Anaheim?
  17. EN and Kings pressing. 4th line out. They get called for an icing with 1:18 left. FLAMES WIN
  18. Appreciate the GDG ther RockDoc. Pretty even game so far. The Flames have great stretches and then have drop offs. The 4th line on for both goals against, but not all on them.
  19. Unfortunately, Ras covers the guy who reverses the puck, and Edler is left free to walk in. Missing a forward on that play.
  20. Two trips by LA in a row and no calls. At least the refs have put their whistles away for both sides.
  21. Monahan little pass springs Gaudreau one on one. Guadreau seemed a bit surprised and deked to his backhand. He had so much space, it was like a short breakaway.
