I think we can take this game, but we need to revert to a few different looks. Monahan back with Coleman and Mange. Backlund with Dube and Looch. Gaudreau with the stretch pas to Johnny.

I was pretty happy overall with the lack of calls. No 5 and a game for a reasonable hit. No weak calls.

Ruzie couldn't hold his man but nobody covering Stepan.

Feels like the refs are letting a lot go. Couple of takedowns by CAR players. Big hits by Zaddy that refs love to call. Like the way Ruzie is playing. Not a 4th liner, but blends with whomever he's with. Was out with Gaudreau and drew a penalty.

They show his muffins to go with his great defensive plays. CAR doesn't look like the team they should be. But we have put the boots to them for over half of the 1st. Expect a close game. Mange scores next. Even though Lucic almost had one.

I think you saw a bit of everything. One shift with Gaudreau and Mony. A shift with Ruzie and JH. You name it. I think Sutter was not impressed with Markstrom in his last game. Vladar easily was the only reason the game was close. Marky hasn't done that in a little while. The FLA game was not his best one for sure.
