I loved the shift where they held the zone for all of McD's shift. Of course he comes out a minute later, but it's good to see them applying pressure. Some risk there, but the D seem dialed in for a change. Smith looks shaky. More than one shot went off his glove or pads into a danger area. Which is odd, since the shot count is so low.

A little tentative by the Flames. Get it going.

EDM gets away with too many men.

We get McCauley and Furlatt again as the refs, same as game 1. I'm not sure that is a good or bad thing. It wasn't a penalty filled game until the end. Had two situations where they hauled off 3 players. And a really soft call against Backlund for pushing McD. And Lucic got the only roughing penalty after the (glorious) hit on McD. Should have taken an Oiler for instigating. Whatever, better than Kozari.

Only one game I felt we didn't start on time, game 3. The rest we didn't finish the way we are used to. Game 1, a weird semi-comeback by the Oilers. Game 2, a combination of a badly called 4 minute double on a guy 2 feet tall, on his knees. Combined with a shorty played too loose. Game 4, letting a comeback fall on a weak play by an entire line, plus a 4 minute on an errant stick, by a guy that should not have been up that far. We have everything we need to win. Stay loose. Play like the start of game 1 and set the tone. Play the rest of the game like game 4, most of period 3. Win tonight.

Lucic was effective in game 1. Laid out McD, as did Zaddy. But we were lucky in that game that McD didn't get out of the zone with Lucic on the ice. We have last change, as yeah I know Sutter doesn't line match, but let's be honest. The 4th line gets caved in with McD out there. Almost every line actually. Was less skill in the Dallas series. Lucic has a role, but he has to limit his play to it. Forechecking and hard hits. I don't expect more. Get someone out there with him that benefits from a heavy forecheck and possession. Dube didn't seem to be thee right choice. IMHO, you have to exploit Toffoli's shooting. He's not getting the puck at all.
