Just commenting. They looked like they never played defense before.
They were controlling the Flames up to the first penalty.
Then they couldn't make simple plays.
This is the time of the year to start looking at the players we would be better off without.
Or the ones that we would miss bit would get good value in a trade for another piece.
Better off without:
Hanifin
Sutter and Muller(oops)
Better off with a trade:
Backlund
Coleman
Tanev
Some guys that would be better off under a new coach.
I wonder what our PP would look like with a player that consistently was able to connect on a one-timer.
Oh, right, that's not where 99% of the goals in the NHL are scored.
Yeah, that was a whiff. I didn't exactly see where the puck ended up, but it MIGHT have been in his feet.
If not, then yes it's 100% what we do every game.
Saying that, there is only about 1 or 2 players that can actually hit the net on a one-timer.
I think we have no choice to trade him this summer.
The only part of his game I like is his PK and his covering McDavid.
Other than than, Lindholm is a better defensive and offensive player.
I'm not really sure why Sutter went back to Hanifin-Ras, but it's not an improvement.
Hanifin was pinching again with Backlund (not) covering the point.
I laughed at Millen.
He suggested that maybe Sutter shortens the bench.
The 4th line with a poor game and on for the last goal against.
Duehr promoted up the lineup.
Sutter's version of shortening the bench is to sit one top plyer for shifts, reduce his icetime.
I see that VAN's NCAA player, recently signed, gets his second game in and scores a big goal.
Imagine that, a 7th rounder being signed and allowed to play.
