I wasnt a big fan of the McDonald pick when it happened, there was other goalies on the board at the time. But hey he's flames property now, so hopefully he proves me wrong.

Ortio haters out in force, Prior to this game he was solid for us and everyone loved him for the 5 games he played. He literally just came back from a injury 2 weeks early, and thrown into a game where we rested basically our top 4-5 players. On a side note, Congrats to Gillies for capturing the NCAA Championship today.

Ortio just got recalled, i'm guessing he's back from his injury finnaly. The Flames have realized there's no play-offs down at Addy. Hopefully Ortio is a wall for us when and if he gets played.

Yay, They sent Ortio down along with Granlund and Tspoon apparently. This is exactly what I wanted, Addy has 2 more games before their All-Star break. (Friday/Saturday) Looks like they get some reinforcements. Sadly Ortio's All-star spot was taken due to this fiasco, so it's unlikely he gets to play.

This is exactly what I didn't want to happen... Ortio misses yet another All-Star game. For what? To sit with the team as they watch the all-star game? Ortio needs playing time and to not sit as a 3rd rotation in net. Either 1 of ramo or hiller should be traded to keep Ortio up or send Ortio back down so he can play his damn game.

Looks like Ortio gets the start tomorrow vs Anaheim.(Is anyone really surprised?) It's the last game before the All-Star break, win or lose I hope the Flames send him back down so he can play in his All-Star game as he has earned his right to play.

Ortio is now 4-0, SV% of .958, and a GAA of 1.23 I believe he has earned yet another start, and it's going to be a big test facing the #1 team in the league, as they are also on a 4 game win streak. I don't think Ortio should stay up with the Flames all season for a few reasons. 1. Ortio's 1 way status doesnt kick in until next season, so we have flexibility for now 2. We need to raise Hiller's or Ramo's trade value before we make any hasty moves (hopefully for a young D) 3. Ortio could use some play-off experience in Addy before he's a full timer on the Flames

The fact Ortio is doing this all on the road is something else, he's helped us beat some tough buildings. You can't take Ortio out of net like this, play him until he loses.

Good, I was just thinking Ortio should get the start tomorrow, then send him down win or lose, unless a trade is pending. Then continue onto the road trip with 2 goalies.

I wouldnt get rid of a goalie we have unless its for a 2nd+ or for a package deal to get a young D.

Last night should give us some hope for next year, because by then we have to make up our mind on what were doing with Ortio considering his contract. Either we stick with him and continue to develop him in the NHL next year. Or we trade him. Choose between Hiller or Ramo, then trade the other, Is what I would go with. But for now Ortio can enjoy his time up with the Flames while he can, then back down to Addy to help solidify a play-off spot for them once ramo is back from injury.

Any news on Gio? He's gonna be hard to replace if he's gone for an extended period of time.
