Just one of a number of reasons we should be in the coach market.

The last thing we need is to buy a goalie this trade deadline. For what it will cost and with the limited choices it is not worth it. We have a #1 goalie in Ramo and maybe we are starting to see glimpses of a backup in Ortio emerging. Most on here think BT can go out and buy us a #1 LOL we wont acquire a #1 with any of our UFAs so a valuable piece (or more) will have to be moved. Even if we find a #1 can we afford him next year? And what would a #1 do for us the rest of the season? Probably get us a pick at draft in the 8- 10 range instead of the 5-6 range. Ramo #1 with Ortio backup next season.

I still think Ramo is our #1 and should be until a prospect forces him out. He is no Price (complete game changer) but he gives us those timely saves and allows us to compete. We are averaging 30 shots against per game. Once our defense starts playing like they SHOULD be playing I could see goalie prospects come in and actually make a difference forcing Ramo out or play better. But hopefuuly he is back soon.

I thought Ramo played a decent game against Boston. He let in 2 goals that COULD have been saved and saved 3 that SHOULD have been goals. He kept us in a position to win, thats what you hope for.

I felt last year and that Ramo was our best goaltender and feel he will be again this year. The flames goaltending problems have not been the goaltenders but the coach Hartley. You don't play mind games with your staff and expect them to excel. Heres to hopeing Ramo has a stellar game tonight in Edm.

Could someone give me a link to what the proposed site contamination issue is. It would help in my mind who is responsible for the clean-up. Thnx

One thing that BT has disappointed me is in the NTC's with the new signings. Hamilton, Frolik, Raymond, Stajan. With the threat of being traded it keeps the players honest.

BT has addressed needs and has made a few good timely trades (Kylington trade comes to mind Brilliant). I could see BT continue the methodical approach to making the Flames a well rounded team.

BT's first year was not really a test. I'm sure Burke made very clear on his hiring "we are on a 2/3 year rebuild and Hartley stays". So really BT has had a pretty easy job this year and has stayed out of the limelight with low key pickups and mandatory signings. His drafting Bennett was a no brainer but MacDonald and Hunter not sure but could have been suckup picks for Burke. So in my thinking 28 other GM's could have pulled off the same showing as BT this year, (exclusion GM was MacT( Mact and KLowe would not get the easiest job right)). To get us in the playoffs again next year and 17/18 push for the cup will determine his worth. He is in better shape in debth and capspace than most of the other teams so next year the microscope will come out reguarding his GM ability. Still like him and feel he is the right man for the job (right now at least).
