I thought he was was a bit of everywhere in NJ but mostly on the wing. Looks that way when I look at his line combinations. Some time at center, but mostly on the wing.

I don’t think anyone is going to like the contact but at the same time Coleman is a heck of a player and a really good fit for the Flames too in terms of skill set. Borderline elite two way players who can still score goals. I can stomach overpaying for good player and good fits. The only thing that worries me with Coleman is he’s another LS mostly LW so how do you make everyone else fit?
  3. Yup I’m not surprised by this deal at all I just don’t like it and I don’t think it actually makes the Flames better. but it was very predictable
  4. 3rd rounder isn’t terrible. The contract part worries me a bit because I think even has qualifying offer is a bit high so not really interested in term at anything close to 4 mill. he fits a perceived need but I really don’t like dmen who can’t move the puck and he is terrible at it. Maybe he fits with Rasmus and this works out better than I think. sutters also got his work cut out for him with penalties. Zadarov takes way too many.
  5. Better be for pretty cheap. I get the target, this is 100% a Sutter style defender, but I don’t like it. It’s ok if the acquisition and extension are reasonable because Zadarov is more if a bottom pairing dman than a top 4 for me

Starting to see players staying in good situations rather than try and test for more money. Taylor Hall,Mike Reilly and Montour all could have maybe made more money I think they all made good choices to stay. I like Coleman as a player but unless they have some big moves in mind he doesn’t make a lot of sense and the 5X5 he’s being rumored at.

This would have been a good target for the Flames 4 X 3.4Mill.

If they sign Edler he basically gets to play with his national team. got to be worth something.. maybe..🤷‍♂️
  9. Way too much is being made of this NTC. Gaudreau is 1 year away from UFA so he basically has a built in NTC right there. NO team outside the 5 he can OK is going to pay significantly more in assets to acquire a player they know they can't retain. The 5 teams on that list are likely the ones willing to give you the best return anyway. I'm still a bit concerned about the AAV but i do think Gaudreau holds more value to the Flames to re sign than trade. I don't think the trade return would be fantastic.
  10. The VAST majority of Euro/College free agents are going to fall into this bucket. Not just for the Flames but league wide.
  11. Even though I think it's high, it's a good bet from the Panthers. As already pointed out the buyout is cheap on (only 1/3 of the deal) so even if doesn't go well a buyout is not cap crippling. Makes more sense to do it that way than give him 1 year deal to wait and see. Then your dealing with UFA and if it does put up numbers that $ figure could get out of control in a hurry

Quite a few intriguing fits from the Unqualified lists yesterday. Ritchie is a great skill fit but i'm not sure I see the fit unless they plan on moving on some LWs Kase for sure is worth a look. Injury prone yes but worth the flyer as he should be cheap. Great skill fit. If the Flames are not going to bring back Ryan, looking like it, then I think either Piue Suter or Lucas Wallmark would be good fits. If they are looking for some PK help then Danton Heinen could be a fit but he'd have to be pretty cheap. Not a great 5 on 5 player.
  13. I like both but I think Jarvis is better. Equally as skilled shooting the puck but distributes the puck much better than Coronato. Jarvis is a true dual threat. But i'll admit I really, really like Jarvis and I thought the 2020 draft was quite a bit stronger than this one.

Rumors have Suter getting multi year offers as high as 4 years. I'd pass on that one. I think your going to see interest from the Flames in Edler. Might not land him but I think there is a good fit there. Jake McCabe is still the guy I hope the Flames are interested in. I don't think Montour is going to be an option for the Flames. Doesn't really fit their style.
  15. Happy for Bennett but have to say i'm really surprised at that deal. My first reaction is I don't think Florida is going to like that contract.

Even without the legal troubles I don’t think he’d be worth it. He’s just not a very good player and certainly not good enough to be worth the headache of being out of shape or work ethic questions. but with the legal troubles, hard pass.
  17. Probably forgotten but Flames took Kerins in the 6th round last year but he didn’t play due to Covid shutting down the OHL. However the other day he was invited to Team Canada’s summer camp for the World Juniors. Nice honor for a 6th rounder.
  18. I get your thing is to be the contrarian, be negative and think you hold people in check but if you are going to do that at least be factual. I’ve been critical of multiple draft classes under multiple GMs. Yes I like most of them recently but I happen to think the Flames amateur team is very good, and lately they have been. So be nice if before you question someone’s integrity or insult them you could actually use facts and not completely make up an opinion for someone. being negative just to be negative is exactly why this place is not very enjoyable these days.
  19. so honest question then. Why does the criminal code say age of consent is 16?
  20. He’s not my favorite analyst but always interesting with someone has eyes on someone this late in the draft.
  21. Flames had another solid draft. This one doesn’t generate the excitement a few others have but I think that speaks more to the quality of the draft than their work. I don’t think this was a strong draft. think all of their picks have upside, room to grow and fill needs in their pool. Definitely went more for size than in previous drafts but as I said earlier I think they did a good job of doing that while still focusing on players they bring a skill element to it the game as well.
  22. Sergeyev is the type of goalie I like drafting frequently. Later rounds, long term projects but with promising performance in sometimes lower leagues. Can develop without any pressure. Both he and Hellebuyck were drafted out of the same league, at the same age but Sergeyev has the slightly better numbers (but in a lower sample size). Doesn’t mean much just interesting.
  23. The 2021 Flames draft class can now be its own starting line up.
  24. you will want to fact check that.
