  1. Ramo hasn't shown me he's better than JMac. Let the better goalie play.

Big Mac hasn't shown that he is better than Ramo up to this point either...

Its pretty stupid in my opinion they arent playing Ramo. He needs to play to get better, Mac is as good as hes ever going to be.

Ramo would have been my choice as the starter tonight...   If anything, he had motivation to play well against the Habs for letting him go when they had his NHL rights...

  2. In an ideal world If it were possible to mesh some of both Ramo's and Berra's skill sets, we could have one heck of a #1 goalie...

At this point in time I would still give Ramo the edge for becoming the starter though...

  3. Again I don't doubt a drop in interest i just don't agree you are looking at a massive drop to the point revenue will suffer unless this last several years. I they've got another 2 seasons until results need to improve and then at that point I'd be worried but I still don't think it would come close to the 90s level. Not to mention a drop that size represents about 5% of their season ticket base so Hardly dropping like flies....

I agree...   At this point I see it as more of an opportunity for fans that have been patiently waiting to finally get seasons tickets...   Maybe the Dome will lose some of the so called fans that spend half the game either yapping on their cellphones or texting, and instead replace them with hockey fans that care more about what is happening on the ice and make a little more noise to breathe some life back into the building...

  4. Up until last nights games Ortio and Berra seemed to be showing the most promise. Seems last nights results just muddied the question about who will start and who will backup.

I expect lots of rotation and maybe even keeping 3 goalies kicking around and into the season until one takes a step ahead of the rest.

  5. Don't get me wrong...   I did not mean that it changed the picture in a bad way...

I would have to guess that even for the Flames organization it is unknown if Kipper will return at this time...   I don't see him leaving it much past mid June hopefully at the latest until he makes his decision known...   I just can't see him hanging the team out to dry by announcing his retirement in late summer if he does decide too retire...    I am also hoping that they sign Kipper to a one year extension for a decent enough dollar so it makes it more enticing for him to continue...

I do not think Joey Mac would be a good choice for a number one, but is the best option for a backup that we have at the moment and I am glad that he is signed on a contract that makes sense...   Mac can make some great saves, but it seems to me that sometimes he also gets over confident and does things like unnecessarily coming out too far to challenge a shooter, and he got burned for a couple of goals doing just that recently...

By changing the picture I meant more that it's good to see that they are not going to rely on one or more of our "unknown factors" for the role that have already been signed at this point...

If Kipper retires, unless one of our "unknown factor" goaltenders can really step up and steal the show (and I wouldn't bet the farm on it at this point),  the Flames could really be in trouble unless they can pull of a trade for a proven tender somehow without sacrificing too much, and I don't see that as being likely either...
