With Jay Feaster as the acting general manager and Darryl Sutter out of a job, anything could happen depending on what Feaster thinks is best.
I am happy that this occurred, but I am wondering why didn't this go down in the summer when Feaster could have made some trades and adjustments? I am in agreement with Eric Francis who wrote an article that in summary said that by signing Olli Jokinen, Sutter was the antagonist to his story of being a GM.

The axe has finally fallen, and the Flames have turned the page that fans had begun to scream for. Almost 8 years later, the tenure of General Manager Darryl Sutter has come to end and Jay Feaster takes over as the “acting” GM. After playing a good hard and physical game against the Dallas Stars we need to fine tune our effort and try to make something similar against the Buffs.
The Buffs will be down their leading goal scorer and we are coming off of a big win against the division leaders. Did I say win against the division leaders? The Flames are coming off of a disappointing OT loss to the Detroit Red Wings Sunday night in Detroit. The Flames were up 4-3 with under a minute to play when Wings sniper, Henrik Zetterberg, tied it on a power play with 3.2 seconds left in regulation and goalie Jimmy Howard was off for an extra attacker.

It's gameday at the 'Dome as the Flames prepare to host the Detroit Red Wings (7:30, TSN, The Fan 960)and it would appear that the big news today is that David Moss will return to the line-up.
Moss, you may recall, hurt his shoulder in the pre-season. He had been playing center during the pre-season but will line-up tonight in his more familiar right wing position on a line centered by Mikael Backlund with Rene Bourque on the left side.
This will be Game 1 for Moss this season.
