Down In Epic Flames!

OK peeps I'm going to spare you the pleasantry's today because it would be disingenuous. This team has officially hit rock bottom and did it in legendary fashion! There are games where you measure yourself and see where you are and then there are games where you see the sad horrible reality that is the pile of crap that is the Calgary Flames. I love this team OK but this is just disgraceful and pathetic now. Sutter for some stupid reason keeps sitting Kipper in HUGE games and it makes me crazy.

Last Night's Game

Truly enjoyed the game last night and the victory against the Canucks.... it had certainly been a delightful performance and I believe that the Flames are now getting into the winning spirit....they demonstrate perseverence and determination... they have maintained their power play and penalty killing statistics; but more importantly.... - Glencross' glittering performance - Iginla's performance has been inspirational - Wow for Jokinen's empty netter - Congratulations to Irving for his

Playoffs?!

Hello all my loyal Billy blogers out there! How are you all doing on this snowy, snowy day? I hope well! I don't know about you guys but now it feels officially like Christmas time...that's right I said CHRISTMAS time. I am one of those people who thinks that Christians need to stop being so damned considerate during their most joyous time of celebration and enjoy the season of Christmas for what it truly is! Everyone else who has religious holidays are respected highly in this country and are a

The Right Topic

As a fan it is entertaining to debate about the dramatic topics. The fun topics. Should the Calgary Flames trade Jarome Iginla? Should the Calgary Flames blow up the roster? Perhaps the Flames can trade Iginla for Brayden Schenn and then target Yakupov in the draft. Can you imagine a first line of Baertschi-Schenn-Yakupov? Maybe they get Parise as a free agent. What if they trade Bourque for a first rounder and pick up one of the many D-men in this seasons draft. Drool. Good times no d

Anyways I hope the Bigman can warm you up with my hot blog! That's right it has been a wile since I have checked in but the hit count keeps rising and rising and I think it HAS to be from all the peeps that go to this

Flames Scoring Chances - Game 10 Vs Vancouver Canucks

This is a count in these games is not really a symbol of play. Punishment For Fighting In Stands

http://www.diyjerseys.com/calgary-flames-c-3_39.html At the Rangers game last Thursday there was a fight in my section (224). A group of young men being absolutely unbearable started it by throwing a full beer at a guy who had asked them politely to stop swearing. What I am wondering is what punishment the parties involved in the resulting fight usually receive. I have heard of some cases of lifetime bans. This is a concern to me because I had not seen those young men in those seats ever befor

Flames In On Turris

Heard Elliot Freidman on the fan this morning saying turris is holding out for a trade, and will likely sign a deal for more reasonable dollars once he's traded. Elliot also mentioned the flames as the front runner as a possible destination. Still just rumours but it's got a little more cred coming from friedman. Are we about to get Turris? and for what? and WHOOOOPEEEEEEEE! http://www.diyjerseys.com/calgary-flames-c-3_39.html

Panic Button Time?

Hello all my loyal Billy blogers out there! How are all of you on this fine October game day? I hope well. The Bigman is doing well and I wish that I could say the same for the Flames. I'm not one to panic this early in a season because I know there is lots of hockey to play but I said the same thing last year and we missed the playoffs by only a few points. So maybe it is time to freak out a little! That being said,in the last 24 I have been hearing some trade talks. Now I'm not one to get al

Game On!

Well peeps it's official hockey season is upon us once again and I am thrilled to be blogging again for the team that I love! I have worked real hard also on having a stronger facebook presence this year and for future seasons to come in the way of a brand new fan page for us! What is it called you might ask? Well it is called the C of Red. Yes what better way of bringing the fans of the Flames together then to have them as the stars of it! I created the page but it's for us. Like some of you lo

Big Bill Is Back!

Hello all my loyal Billy blogers out there! It has been a wile hasn't it? The bigman has done it all. First I had the Unofficial home of the Calgary Flames on myspace...yeah myspace. It was nice wile it lasted and the dead page is still out there if you give a crap, then the bigman moved to the awesome Internet airwaves and did his not so awesome podcast called "Big Bill's Flamecast" on talkshoe. Almost good but I got to admit it was very unorganized and filled up with lots of unnecessary sweari

Confidence In This Upcoming Season.

As I sit here reviewing everything that has to do with the Flames, I still don't understand the hate that the Flames are getting nowadays. Why do I feel confident in this season? I feel that the team really meshed at the end of last season, in which point we went pretty flawless for the better part of the second half. We could've been as high as 6th had we not lost a few crucial games. Who did we lose off that playoff contending team? Regehr. Now, I love Regehr. I've always loved Regehr and I

Thoughts On July 7th Day At Development Camp

The usual power skating drills were done in the morning with the skill development process being 2 periods of 4 on 4 hockey with some work on PP and PK drills as well. Dave Lowry and Craig Conroy coached either side and it was fun to watch. Intial thoughts are that I havn't seen this much skating ability and skill at a development camp in the last 5 or 6 that i've been to. Goalies Dan Bakala: Actually liked Bakala. Flashed some good all around skills and for the most part was pretty sound. N

The Tim Erixon Saga

On Tuesday the City of Winnipeg was shutdown with the return of NHL hockey, while today in the city of Calgary a “Prospect Countdown” – insert Final Countdown theme here- polarized the city. Such is life in a hockey mad city that just so happen is lacking blue chip prospects. Tim Erixon was more than just a six foot smooth skating Swedish defenseman; he represented a glimmer of hope for a fan base staring at a cap strapped team with two straight playoff exists. Erixon filled the fan base’s hu

A New Cheer

Hey Flames fans. Start yelling " chug chug chug ... " when the boys are falling behind. Thats what trains do to get over a steep hill, and it's understood by the beer drinkers on the team as well as many of the fans in the seats.

At The Heat Game - Review Of The Feb 18th Game At The Dome

A rare live glimpse of the Calgary Flames pipeline was a positive experience, even if the game wasn’t. With names such as Wahl, Chucko and Negrin out due to injury, and the Oilers having recalled Omark and Chorney, the game didn’t set up well to be a classic. However, the chance to get a live look at the prospects still was a nice treat and allowed for a review. I’ll go player by player, but should note that this was a disappointing game for the Heat and one where I thought the pressure seeme

Flames Help Themselves

Coach Sutter said that the Flames players have been playing the system since mid December. I think Flames were in 14th place. It has taken time and certainly did not happen over night. Today they are tied for 5th place. When the Flames play for 60 minutes they may not be beat.

Bourque's A Dud

Borque hasn't done anything except a shootout goal since he signed his contract. He should be benched and definately not given any powerplay time. He will be the prime reason if flames lose tonight.
