Chucko

Chucko has really developed this year as the season has progressed. He has a fire in him right now that hasn't been seen. Heck, he actually fought the other night and really held his own. I think he will have a great chance up there next year at camp, but once again, I think it's going to truly depend on cap room and all that good business crap...

the question is after 3 years, why do I hear nothing of our first rounder, yet the 3rd rounder is a NHL regular? Is this guy a bust? And what is the best you can expect out of him? Whats the upside?

Shouldnt polished forwards take longer to develop than gritty, grinders? So 3 years ago, I wouldnt have expected boyd to crack the lineup while chucko is no where to be heard from.

A 3rd liner?

A 2nd liner?

defensive specialist?

20 goals a year?

30 goals a year?

A big reason you don't hear from him is part of his development was slowed by the University of Minnisota where he went to play. While he was a great player in the BCHL, Minnisota turned him into strictly a checker and played him only on the 3rd line. That was why the Flemas yanked him out of Minnisota and didn't let him finish, because the Gophers weren't letting him develop his all around game. It pretty much ate a year out of his development.

Mix between David Moss and Chuck Kobasew. He has Kobasew's speed and desire to go into tougher areas and play along the boards, and Moss' strength and ability to go to the net.

More than likely a 3rd line foward that should put up numbers just under what Kobasew did as a Flames. 10-15 goals with about 30 ish points.
