His intelligence is getting there and if he can work on his physical ability and his skill, he will be worth a serious look by 2004-05 season.

If he hasn't come close to making it by now (add to that the fact that he's not even on the radar), chances are slim to none that he'll ever make it in the NHL. From what the article said, sounds to me like his development was almost totally de-railed on the Russian team he was playing with.

Maybe if he could've made the jump to the AHL a few years ago and then spent a few offseasons bulking up his frame, we'd be talking about him possibly challenging for a roster spot but now, there's little chance of that ever happening.
