Cody1774
I went to one in Red Deer, years ago. Although it is still a great idea, and a great game to experience, I would have to assume it isn't the same as going to the Hitman Teddy Bear Toss. nfkevin
Last year I missed the game, but I won't be missing this one! Am looking forward to seeing 15,000+ bears rain down on the ice.
nfkevin
Well, the Hitmen broke the record in what was a great game that ended 4 - 0 Hitmen. Everybody played great, making up for the loss of Duval, Petersson, Figren, and Alzner (the latter 3 to the World Jr. tournament). 16380 fans showed up, and 15540 bears were thrown on to the ice, breaking the short-lived Winterhawks record. Was great to see so many people out to a Hitmen game, it's very affordable entertainment and hopefully the great game this afternoon will encourage a lot more people to come to every game! wiseoldman
I went, and i got hit several times in the headd with large heavy teddy bears (I was in the front row). On the plus side, I got 20 free bears to throw on the ice. It really is amazing to see all those bears come down.

cgy
I love the Teddy Bear Toss! Sadly, I had to miss out this year (stupid work) but I'm glad we got the record back. Nice that White got the goal too.

bandwagon
Sounds like it went better than this toss: Minnesota-Duluth decided to hold their fourth annual fourth annual Teddy Bear Toss this past Saturday. Fans were instructed that throw their teddy bears onto the ice after the Bulldogs first goal of the game.Bulldogs fans had a little trouble with the whole "first goal" concept though. Most of the bears made their way onto the ice after the first goal. But then a few errant bears were tossed onto the ice after Drew Akins scored to put the Bulldogs up 2-0. In accordance with NCAA rules, an announcement was made over the PA that the Bulldogs would be penalized if anything else was thrown on the ice. When Duluth scored their third goal, to make the score 3-0, two more bears were thrown on the ice, and the Bulldogs were assessed a two-minute penalty. The Bulldogs almost escaped unscathed, but Bemidji's Travis Winter scored a powerplay goal with 9 seconds remaining on the penalty, to make the score 3-1. The goal seemed meaningless at the time, but Bemidji came back to tie the game at 5, and eventually win in overtime. The Teddy Bear Toss is a nice tradition, and hopefully it continues at Duluth. But next time, they should probably have the toss between periods instead of after a goal. Source: http://westerncollegehockey.blogspot.com/2...-promotion.html Gotta love the NCAA. Nah, people were just doing it to be idiots and it was only one or two of them each time, the linesman picked them up pretty fast.
