2018 World Juniors - Flames prospects

Most teams have released preliminary rosters. Flames count is currently at 5

 

Team Canada -

Dillon Dube (basically a lock at this point)

Team Finland

Jusso Valamaki - Already named Captain so he is a lock

Eetu Tuulola (sounds like a bubble player)

Team USA

Adam Fox - returning player so you would assume a lock. Should play a big role

Team Sweden

Linus Lindstrom - Sounds like he is a bubble player but if the Swedes don't get Alex Nylander he only has to survive 2 cuts.

Only player that I would assume will be there is Adam Ruzicka for Team Slovakia but that roster has yet to be named. So could be 6 invites. 

 

Phillips is the only notable omissions i would say. Other Flames prospects are either too old or not really on national team radars.

Really dislike that Phillips is not there, not sure why we continue to go with grit over skill.

Probably with Phillips is who comes out? They didn't even take Owen Tippett on the team this year and they are very skilled in the top 9. 

 

Pretty good forward collection for Canada this year.

Yeah, that's a good point, Pu didn't make it either I guess.

 

Just a bummer for flames fans who don't watch him play often.

 

He a had good summer camp with Hockey Canada and showed well in the Canada vs Russia series too, but here's hoping for a gold regardless.
