DL44
The Minnie Mice & the Oil.... [i am assuming the Sharkie Sharks (Not Nucks ) & the Canes were your picks DL] Nah.. I made the poll so i can't vote... Minny is a ballzy choice... next 2 gms are : @ Ana, @ LA If i were to vote... nah forget vote... who i HOPE wins this : Canucks and Flyers. I just can't pile on the Oilers like that... if they were to be the last to win this season on top of their already miserable start and brutal game yesterday vs the Kings... man oh man... that would be putting a lot people on suicide watch... Also the burning of that many Oiler jerseys would create such a massive spike in respiratory disorders in the Northern Alberta area... can't have that.. But putting money on it... Looking at the schedules... Minny is in tough immediately... the Sharks on the road and playing a lot... Vancouver about to hit a b2b going into a 3 game road trip... so let's go Chicago:Last to Lose. Last to win... Carolina, they have the Alberta teams coming up.. So one of Edm/Car comes off the list.. so I'll avoid both.. Florida has Buffalo next. Let's go with the Flyers: Last to Win... 3 game road trip coming up (Dal-Chi-Pit) then Det then LA.... tough tough schedule.

DL44
Vancouver Canucks were the last to lose this year? heh heh... They got to ride 3 wins vs Alberta and a 6 day break to victory...feels a little hallow since they lost 3 hrs after the Isles did.... would be been nice to see as the lone unbeaten team for at least one morning in the standings.Whereas the Canes and Oilers are really going to earn their title title this year. New game... which team without a regulation loss the longest to start the season ... go by date.. not games... 3 Teams in contention without a regulation loss yet... Chicago 3-0-1 Washington 3-0-2 Nashville 3-0-2 Kinda neat that Trots' former and new teams are both are on 5 game streaks to start the season... There are 3 teams without a ROW as well.. Buffalo would join the Canes, Oilers.. but that just complicates matters.
theonlyottoman
The Islanders actually won. This thread was just another transparently lame attempt by a Vancouver fanboy to pump up the tires of a team on the decline. It is so extremely disengeneous because it was started on Oct 15th long after the season had already started and after DL saw that his team had already won two games and had a week off to be followed by a game from the #1 bottom feeder. In reality, Vancouver lost their fourth game, tied with Montreal and New Jersey, and they were behind the Sharks who actually got a point in their fourth game. Vancouver also lost out to the Islanders who won their fourth outright. Vancouver also lost despite having what was probably the easiest competition over that time, two of four games against the worst team in the league. DL44
Or it was because i've done this thread in previous years...http://fans.flames.nhl.com/community/topic/19828-last-to-lose-last-to-win-game-2013-edition/http://fans.flames.nhl.com/community/topic/18423-last-team-to-lose-a-game-last-team-to-win-a-game-this-season/Also there's no point in doing it when until you are down to a bunch of finalists. And based on the what the thread is actually about... The Canucks were the last team standing this year. Sorry that upsets you so much. But its pretty clearly laid out. http://fans.flames.nhl.com/community/topic/18423-last-team-to-lose-a-game-last-team-to-win-a-game-this-season/?p=597827There are a lot of more legit ways to pump the tires as a Vancouver fanboy... this wasn't one of them... but it turned out to be one at the end eh... who would thought no team would go more than 4 games without a defeat...But you keep finding different ways of getting your knickers in a knot... alrighty then. theonlyottoman
Yes, it should be done at the beginning of the year. When everyone is on equal footing, not when it appears that your team has the best chance win. That only comes across as troll esque. It gives the impression that you wern't even going to make this thread until circumstances made it look good for your team. What's particularly bothersome is that instead or discussing the merrits of how the Islanders are having a fantastic start despite years of being in the dumps, it's devolved into to another Canucks thread and really, nobody cares about the Canucks. They are average. Not that I'm a big fan of the Islanders or anything but the real story here is about them. Is this finally a turnaround? I hope they do well. Their fans have definitely earned it. Never go full Calgarypuck, never. - can you explain why this Vancouver fan boy posted this thread the other 2 yrs when Vancouver wasn't involved? - no one in here is discussing the Canucks, nor has this become a Canuck thread outside of the statement they were the last to lose this year, and you moaning about them and the thread. - if you wish to discuss 'the real story', produce a thread called 'The Real Story is about the Islanders' and go crazy with your thoughts... theonlyottoman
Calgarypuck is great for breaking news and updates. I used to read and post my share of news updates here for over a decade but CP seems to have it before any of my other sources do, although I pretty much ignore their banter. But to answer your first question, I honestly don't know why a Vancouver fanboy posts anything in the Calgary flames board. So far as this thread being Canucks related, there are only four posters one of which brought up the Canucks. That makes it Canucks related. Additionally, the premise of this poll is silly and anything but insightful so I commented on that. The timing of the poll is suspect for the reasons mentioned above so that was commented on as well.Thank you for moderating what and where my responses should be. The last time I checked this was a "Public" forum and I believe that my comments are indeed on topic. If you wish to moderate my comments, perhaps you should create a web site called "Calgary flames for Canucks fans" and "go crazy with your thoughts".Also, just curious what was the "...keep finding different ways of getting your knickers in a knot..." comment about? Was that a personal attack or something?
Kulstad
Let's get this thread back on point, shall we? This thread was about predictions of who be the last team to lose a game, and the last team to win a game, with comments on the various teams as they fell off the list.
Flyerfan52
So 3 teams haven't Lost a game (unless you count pretend overtime & the penalty shot contest). They'd be the Hawks, Preds & Caps. Carolina & Edmonton are the 2 teams with 0 Wins although the 1st has 2 welfare points & the 2nd has 1. So Vancouver now has a "1" in the loss column while 3 teams don't. If the NHL doesn't consider an OT/SO loss a loss in the standings fans shouldn't. ************************************************ I'd still just get rid of the whole farce of some games being 2 points & others 3. If it was every game 2 points DL would still be wrong because a tie still doesn't = a loss. *********************************************** Predictions:Last to lose is the Caps. Last to win is the Canes.
Pyromancer
Predictions: Last to lose is the Caps. I would consider the Caps as being crowned as "the last to lose" when considering that OT is still borderline real hockey; despite being 4vs4. The other teams lost in the 5 min OT periods whereas the Caps only lost in 2 skill competition SO's & not OT. DL44
Waiting for your picks for those new categories. Glad you asked Pyro... This is, by intentional design obviously, my opportunity to pump the tires of my team as a Vancouver fan boy.. So I have to say the Canucks have a great chance because in OT, 4-on-4 is actually what we call here in Vancouver, between us fan boys, a "Sedin PP" ... and now with Miller as well as the 4 th best Shootout specialist in league history, I don't think they'll lose many Shootouts at all all year. So my pick for both is the Flames.
