returnofthejets
Top 10 Defencemen: 1. Shea Weber 2. Zdeno Chara 3. Erik Karlsson 4. Kris Letang 5. Alex Pietrangelo 6. Ryan Suter 7. Duncan Keith 8. Drew Doughty 9. Keith Yandle 10. Dan Girardi Are you simply meaning points?, if yes, then Byfuglien would be in my top 3. Perhaps there's still some lost love for him out in Nuck territory. Since this is the Flames message board I would say Wideman should have more points than Girardi, maybe not top 10, but more points...if you base this on points. What makes you think that? Top 10 defencemen in the league right now. Don't think Byfuglien or Wideman belong anywhere near such a list.

Crzydrvr
By these lists it's easy to see you guys watch mostly the western conference. It's hard to ask me to watch Eastern Conference games when I'm based out in the West.... and I thought mine was pretty much 50-50 split on everything but the dmen. Guess not.... Flyerfan52
It's hard to ask me to watch Eastern Conference games when I'm based out in the West.... and I thought mine was pretty much 50-50 split on everything but the dmen. Guess not.... I meant no disrespect. I just see eastern players/GMs/coaches being rated higher then I think they deserve but when relying on stats that's easy to do. Likewise some western players aren't getting full credit. (In the eastern based fans I see them overvalue some western franchise's players for the same reason.) It's much like trying to judge the players on your team. You go by what your bias wants you to see. It's impossible not to have a slant on your views. I probably have a 60/40 split (more eastern) & know I filter everything I see through my personal tastes. That causes me to value certain things others don't & place less value on some of the things they see as important. We seldom see the 2 conferences head to head & lists like this are all judgement calls anyway. It was an off-hand remark.
