ButtersStotch
ABBOTSFORD 4, ROCKFORD 1 (Source - TheAHL.com) Abbotsford fell into an early 1-0 hole but then scored four straight goals to claim a 4-1 road win over Rockford on Friday at the MetroCentre. The IceHogs, who beat the Heat twice in British Columbia last weekend, struck first in this one when defenseman Wade Brookbank tallied his first goal of the season at 6:35 of the first period. Rockford took the 1-0 lead into the first intermission, but it was all Heat from that point on. Rookies Mitch Wahl and Lance Bouma both tallied their first goal of 2009-10 in the second period, and Cam Cunning and Greg Nemisz added third-period markers to pad the lead. Rookie Gaelan Patterson chipped in two assists on the night, defenseman Keith Seabrook had two helpers, and goaltender Leland Irving (4-2-0) stopped 27 of 28 shots in net. These two teams will conclude their four-game season series on Feb. 5 in Rockford. HEAT STUFF THE HOGS 4-1 (www.abbotsfordheat.com) Statistical Game Summary Following up on his shutout last game, Leeland Irving looks like he is back in a groove for Abbotsford making 27 saves while letting in only 1 goal. Milwaukee is the next victim of the Heat later today. Good to hear. I was worried about his game back during training camp but it sounds like he's over that bump and getting back to his true form.
