What I think they are doing in regards to not playing Ramo is they know they have him signed for next season while, MacD and Berra contracts are up this season, they are playing them to see if they want to resign or not. That is the story I am going with because nothing else makes sense to me.

as long as its not over 3 years term, it really does not matter what the salary is. I dont understand all the fuss, we are near the floor and have lots of room and well not looking to get to the cap anytime soon.

Thanks for the update on Berra's contract. So here is where I think we sit at the moment. Kipper - Signed for next season - unknown if will retire or not, likely will BigMac - UFA at end of season Ramo - Unsigned at the moment. Reports say is looking forward to coming back to NHL Berra - Signed an entry level deal for next season Taylor - RFA next season Brust - Unsigned Irving - RFA next season Gillies - unsigned (in collage) Brossoit - Signed to entry level (unsure of this or next year) Ortio - RFA after next season So at this time we 4 goalies signed for next season, one possibly retiring. WE have 2 RFAs for next season and the rights to 3 others. It will be interesting to see what direction they go, weather that is use 2 of what is in the system as tandem or try and pick up a starter and one of the above for backup.

I cannot find any information confirming this anywhere. Can you post the thread or a link that confirms this? I believe is is not under contract at this time.
