    So ROR wants 1 year at 6.75 million from the Av's. Wonder what will happen. What I'd like to see is the Av's walk away from whatever the arbiter awards, Ryan goes to UFA and the Flames scoop him up for 3 years at 5.5. Ah to dream! ;)

      Sorry that was supposed to be or not and......I agree we need an enforcer however we don't need 2. I like the idea of hanging on to McGrattan.

      Moving vets out does not make a lot of sense to me. You have to have the prospects and rookies in a rebuild ready for NHL time. Opening up spots for a prospect before he is ready isn't in his best interest. The second point is canyou ge a decent return even if you want to move them. If you can't then that is a poor use of assets.

      I agree with DD. As much as I would be fine with moving on from Jackman, I think the little value he has on the roster is more then the return we would get him. I am not sure if he would even get picked up on waivers.

    So Gio is out 6-8 weeks with a broken ankle and Stemps is week to week with a broken foot. Now the real test begins for our Flames.

    I don't want to see the Flames overpay for a player during FA. Stay the course is my mantra for this season.

      So we should ignore UFAs. Early on the good 1s get overpaid but later the dregs can be had for little.

      Considering the team as it is that's a sure fire ticket to picking top 5.

      I'm not saying don't sign FA's, I'm saying don't overpay for them like we have in the past. I would be fine adding someone like Grabovski or Bozak if the price is right.
