If Rutherford is reluctant to hand the keys to Murray? He handled the most pressured situation on the planet. Fleury is gone. Hopefully he agrees to come to Calgary. Fleury has always been a little shaky but I'd do the deal in a second.

I get what your saying Cross but the only team in the NHL with sub par goaltending that won consistently is Detroit. How they do it every year since Vernon (My kid beat out his son for AAA midget this year then my kid got hurt so Matt Vernon got to play at the Macs) Is beyond me! Every pro team does need a strong goalie though to have a chance. Just like your saying.

You bring up a lot of fair issues with Andersen. Hard to tell if he could be the guy. Lots of unknowns.

Wish we still had Kipper and he was still 28 years old. It makes you think about other goalies like kipper that are buried on other teams depth chart that just need a shot? Still trying to figure out how Daryl Sutter new that and no one else did? Not even SanJose knew what they had in Kipper. Cam ward? I don't think anyone knows what Ron Francis is trying to do now a days though?

The guys on Fan 960 said yesterday that they figure Wideman and a second rounder would fetch Andre-Fleury. Hopefully they're right. Anderson is only 26 years old he would have at least 8 years ahead of him as a starter. That would frustrate Gilles? But competition brings out the best in people. Flames should pursue a 30 something goalie I think? You're right on Andersons work load. Which can wear on a goalie if he's not used to it. Or proved that he can handle 60 plus games.

The oilers gave their big boys extensions even before they produced at an NHL level. JG and SM have produced so I'm my mind they deserve what RNH got and Hall. They're our big guns. You're right goalie is a huge puzzle.

I apologize for my actions on this thread a week ago. Got into the beers and posted angry threads towards BT. I like the guy he's a good GM. Sorry if I made anyone feel uncomfortable. I was warned by the Mods. We're all having insightful thoughts towards our team. Thought I had to say something.

Wish BT would of taken the first rated goalie that year ( Thatcher Demko). Mason faces a lot of shots in the Q but Demkos stats with Boston college is stellar.

Pay my thousands in season tickets and I can't voice my own opinion? I didn't insult anyone but the readers did to me. I wasn't racial or use profanity. I just don't appreciate a GM that lets the team tank so he can fire his coach for his own agenda. I'm not stupid I know what Treliving did. Kick me out like I give a elbowing.

Kane and Towes were up for new contracts and bowman got it done quickly. Our best players are waiting on BT to get it done and BT doesn't seem to think that it's an urgent matter. Out of anything towards BT that irks me the most is sign your best players now and quit waiting to get to them. Hes had 2 months to get it done. Throws money at useless players then makes his best players wait. I don't get it.

BT gives Ramo a one year deal then Ramo is sent to the minors. You're the GM take responsibility for your actions! BT let the team sink. Flames had a shot at the playoffs and he probably didn't want to give up the first rounder for an established veteran goalie. If you don't have a goalie you got jack which was evident.

BT made an excuse to fire Hartley because Hartley wasn't his choice. All BT said was its time for a change with no elaboration on why. If BT would of acquired a goalie Flames would of made the playoffs. BT let his team sink for what ever the reason and Hartley took the fall.

BT says Hartley took the team as far as he could and it's time for a change. BT fired a coach that won the Jack Adams with a young team that says a lot!! Hartley had the team scoring goals with the tops in the league. I guess will see how the team plays under a new coach. We had a Stanley cup winning coach. Now we're faced with most likely a rookie coach.

Treliving is a tireless worker and I respect that. He's suppose to be Mr super scout and an eye towards the feel for his team. I don't know anymore then anyone else. How could you let your team sink to the, bottom when the offence was potent enough to compete with the big boys. Then throw Hartley under the bus when it was BT fault for not getting them a goalie? BT has made a lot of mistakes in a short amount of time. More negative decisions then positive ones. I mean Hartley won the Jack Adams. No continuity in Canadian cities.

We needed a goalie this season and BT knew that we all did. Why he didn't act on that who knows. We could of made the playoffs with a goalie. Probably was hoping to tank for Matthews even though we had Monahan!! Why else wouldn't he have gotten a goalie?

All I'm saying in a whole is BT does bizarre things. He signs Hamilton the day after acquiring him. There was no rush to sign him he was an RFA as well.Then makes JG and SM wait it out until he gets to them. He gave Hamilton 6.5 mil with no problem. Hamilton had one good year.

Signed Hamilton to a long term deal immediately after acquiring him. But takes his time with Gaudreau and Monahan? Ya because he got the Ahl coaching decision right? He said he needs a coach to take the players to the next level then he will hire a rookie or an assistant coach.

Dislike BT. He makes ridiculous decisions. What did Frolik and England and Ramo do. Flames finished the year in top 7 in goals for. We needed a goalie to make the playoffs and he didn't deliver. Let his team down by not supporting them to succeed.

BT inherited this team he didn't draft any of the current starting line up except Bennet which was a no brainer.So I'm not sure why every one trusts him so much. He screwed the farm team with his coaching change. What was Stockton a last place team? Then he takes his sweet time locking up his two best players because he can?
