Our New Jumbotron?

The Flames have to wait until the Flames are gone, Hitmen are gone, theres no concerts, and etc. for a few days. Apparently they think building a jumbotron and raising it to the rafters will take 3 days. I just hope it's anywhere near as nice as Philadelphia's new scoreboard. That thing is AMAZING! NHL.com had a feature on it at the beginning of the year. The screens are huge and in HD... and everything else is so nice :P. The goalie said he'll have problems because he got scored on watching a replay of his save on the old (but still very nice) jumbotron.

Actually I've heard it's a week.

Great! Thanks for the responses. Not that I will get to actually see it often being up in Deadmonton, but its just one more way to make our stadium better then the Drug Store up here... not that there is any dispute. Hah.

I guess then, once the new jumbotron becomes obcelete, we will be closer to the "new stadium" if that happens.

the word that came to mind was... WOW.

that thing is bloody huge!

Kinda downgrades most old skool Jumbotrons to simple 'Big Screen' status in comparison.

When did that go up in Vancouver? I was there during the pre-season and it wasn't  The guy in the first pic is very brave to be standing under that thing while it's that low

Holy crap! How big are those things? I thought the biggest HD flat screens were like 100 inches. I wonder what resolution they have. 1080p? And you probably couldn't pay me to stand under it like that guy.

The BIG BIG screens at Schanks are actually HD as well , and those things are HUGE !

Here are some pictures of the canucks scoreboard i took.......hopefully the flames will get something similar to this i dunno if ours is gonna be that big, the nucks scoreboard is amazing....the images are really crisp and clear.....its much bigger than the philly one from the looks of it. The in game experience is so much better with the new scoreboard then ever before its totally amazing!!!!!

December 17th the old one comes down.

How do you know where's your source???

I'm guessing it was probably said somewhere, but even if it wasn't, it makes the most sense. There is not a single event at the Saddledome from the 16th to the 25th, and then a Flames game on the 26th vs. the Canucks. So they have 10 days to make sure it doesn't squash the Sedin's.

They does make sense. I sure hope it does come then but if it doesn't then we'll see it next season. Ken King said in June that he wasn't sure if it would arrive this season, if it didn't then we'd have it in enough time for the 2007/2008 season.
