JG was down-to-the-wire offered what he wanted. Said no.

Now we want to paint this as, "oh such a hard decision". Whatever. Best of luck to Columbus dealing with a little kid afraid to get in trouble, then can't understand the backlash for wasting everyone's valuable time.

Sometimes, you've gotta call a spade a spade. Take us to the wire, we offer what you want, you still say no.

Thanks for the giant f%$& around.

This is exactly how I feel about JG and he was my favourite. LOL I don't disrespect him because he wanted what's best for his family. However, he was disingenuous on what he wants. This is a divorce that leaves a bitterness how it all went down.

I'm all about what is best for the team. Screws the individual's wants and needs. MT at least got what he wants and have a good bye gesture for us. Screw JG. 🙂

  2. This is how I look at this deal. Most Flames fan would be elated if Johnny accepted this same offer from BT. and have decided to stay with us.However, he did not. Johnny have decided to leave us for less money. Then, BT took the same bag of money offered to another (bigger) guy with the same point production last year, and he accepted that bag of money. We have locked up this guy for 9 years, and he is an elite player. Johnny will not be the same player in CBJ because he will be distracted with new baby and his wife is the one wearing the pants in the family. Let be real here, if Johnny is still single, he would have accepted our offer and have stayed with us. I'm glad how things transpired because now, we have Jonathan rather than Johnny. Jonathan sounds more civilized than Johnny, don't you think? LOL

He definitely did it the right way and I think that's a credit to the way he was brought up. Being around the NHL his entire life.

It sucks he didn't want to stay but he put the Flames in a position where they could get a significant return. He could have just went to arb and got the 1yr deal and forced the Flames to sell low. He didn't and credit to him.

And ultimately as a result, I don't think he will be hearing any boo's when he returns to the Dome. On the other hand, Johnny might...

Totally agree with you here. I have more respect for Tkachuk than Johnny, and I'm not a fan of Tkachuk. My first Flames jersey is Johnny's jersey, but I will be booing him when he's back in Calgary. 😀

I will be booing him moving forward and he was my favourite player. I don't know what to do with his jersey now. I was thinking an X thru his name and number, or maybe just burn it and post the video on you tube. LOL

You're going to be needing that GIF alot with this crowd for the next little while.

Johnny will sign. I'm not sure why people seem to take rumor as gospel but whatever.

From the date of my last posting on this thread, I have a feeling that he will walk, and this feeling haven't subsided yet. He loves his family and he wants to be near home. His home is in NJ. I want to be wrong here. His jersey is the first Flames jersey that I bought ,so I hope I can continue to wear it without ridicule. LOL

  6. Is Johnny worth 11.5x7 or ? There seems to be a pattern in the NHL that on their last year before contract renew, they play like there is no tomorrow so that they will cash in for retirement. I like Johnny but I'm not sure he is worth that.

  7. Look at John Tavares, he pretended that he wanted to play with Islanders but deep down he always wanted to play for Toronto. I think Johnny is in a similar dilemma. Deep down, Johnny wants to be in the East and probably wants to play for the Devils, Flyers or Bruins.

  8. It is getting close to the deadline, so what is holding Johnny from signing here? At what date, should the Flames be shopping for trading his rights to an Eastern teams? The longer we wait, the his trade value would've diminish.
